Time to withdraw the offer and focus on a replacement.
I agree with everything you said. He's already won two superbowl and made very critical plays in both of them. At this point, unless a team entices him with ridiculous amount of money, he'll be back. If he does re-sign, I want him to keep his down and play the best he can.Oh I feel strongly he will be back. My previous comments are not about that. If he leaves it is just cause he doesn't want to put in the same hard work anymore. Some guys just have had enough. That or the market didn't give him what he thought it would so he decides to take it out on the Patriots (a much more childish reason). Those things aside I don't see why he would turn down the Pats at this point. Clearly no one is offering him 13 or probably even 12M. If that is the case I would be very surprised as I have not got that impression once.
I would like him back but I am just saying I get a "Seymour" feeling from him. He is another great player who was key to our victories and did his job but I don't think ever bought into it all. It can work fine just I prefer guys who eat and breath it like McGinest, Bruschi, Edelman, Brady, ect... And not all of them take less to stay and some even move on but you know when they are here they are true believes. Just you feel that about them.

Well i wish they had waited out on marty.
Has cook signed yet?
He is just comparing it to Boston, no offense likely meant. I was just in Philly and I could not help do the same thing. Every American city seems like a cesspool compared to Boston.
High is making a relatively bigger decision than you do when buying a home. Why shouldn't he check out the market and the location before signing a deal?
Having lived in many cities, I feel you need to spend a reasonable amount of time to compare it to "home." For instance, much of Philly kind of sucks, but there are some really nice suburbs and downtown neighborhoods.
Boston sucked through most the 80's and 90's but has had a makeover of sorts, too.
Pittsburgh has it's charm and neighborhoods and is much smaller to hold a candle to Boston/NYC/DC/Miami/Philly/Dallas, etc.
Relax. The market is waiting. You are blessed with the luxury of High being yhe top option and Pats being the top destination. You can be sure plans B, C.. are covered.
the steelers lost a LB and need a replacement.
if donta joins that garbage club, enjoy getting destroyed by tb12 and gronkowski!!!!
Not sure about their cap situation but I could see them going hard for Hightower.. wouldn't like having to start hating him..the steelers lost a LB and need a replacement.

Agh, I could've sworn he was on the market at one point around that time. And I don't mean after 2013 when he about left.Sorry...he signed his big deal after the 2009 season after was slapped the franchise tag so he was never technically a FA.
