You and I have had our disagreements. We've both made asses of ourselves. But I am fairly certain you never lied about the things I said because you quoted my whole paragraph or post. And I am fairly certain that I never lied about what you said. To me, lying or exaggerating what a person says is antagonizing that person and opens them up to whatever rebuttal they get.

And I'm not singling you out. For a flame war to start there has to be back and forth. Everyone on the boards, myself included, could stand to remember to keep it civil.

Why should someone be banned for calling an idea asinine?

Because them's the rules. And them's the rules because using that inflammatory language:

- Contributes nothing new or useful to the discussion
- Invariably and unnecessarily pisses off the person who posted said idea
- Causes the discussion to deteriorate fast
- Makes lots of really annoying headaches for your friendly mods.

This is certainly true. I myself harbor several asinine ideas, while my essential character is more feline, or perhaps ursine.

The site itself is more testudine. Or at least that's how it feels, as we crawl toward draft day.

OK, enough is enough.

We need to debate these players civily. We have 16 more days until the draft and quite frankly these pissing contests are starting to get old, boring, and ruining this forum.

Infractions will be given out to those who call others stupid, ******ed, morons, ect., or tell others to STFU or GFY or other such name calling. Also infractions will be given to those who start stirring the pot just to get a pissing contest going.

Patchick and I don't want to be put into the position of giving out infractions. But we have conferred on this and we are determined to restore the forum to a place where draft information can be exchanged in a civil and respectful manner.

Now good natured exchanges and post for humor are always welcome and this is not what we are talking about.

Please act accordingly.

I agree that this site is very well moderated. I have to tip my hat to pchick especially, she seems on a whole other level from the rest of us when it comes to intelligent discourse here.

I hope patsnut stays strict on his rule, since there are posters here who don't understand that "need to get a clue", "need to get a dose of reality" are condescending. I just copied and pasted some text in a recent thread that I believe needs to be looked at regarding one poster's words to Triplechamp.
