Alex Smith no longer the starting QB in San Francisco

For those that still care, Harbuagh's still going to keep everyone guessing until Wednesday.

''Alex Smith is our starting quarterback. He has not done anything to lose that job,'' Harbaugh said. ''In fact, he's playing at a very high level. Also, Colin Kaepernick, you can't categorize him as a backup quarterback, because he's started games and played very well in those games.''

I gotta say, I liked Colin again against the Saints and it's a pretty nice situation to be in.

I wonder if Harbaugh is also doing this to protect Smith if he thinks opponents will try to concuss him. If they do happen to face the Giants again, and Smith starts, it might not be in their best interest to "allegedly" target concussed players if the 49ers have a back up like Colin Kaepernick.
