I've actually had a pretty well documented history of admitting I'm wrong if I am wrong. Do we really need to go down this road again? I have better things to do than to go dig up posts in which I made it clear that we were talking about winning the Super Bowl. And you can go on and think that making the final four means it is a successful season with the GOAT HC and QB, but you're basically an early 2000's Colts fan at that point. A team that's won two Super Bowls in the past five years and made three does not define success by a conference championship game visit or win. Success is going all the way. Don't believe me? Listen to the team. They're not resting on their laurels for making the conference title game. Why are you?
So I am just making things up? Did you or did you not declare the season over in early December?
Are we still playing in late January? Then you were wrong.

I just looked at the Chiefs schedule and they haven't faced much competition at home this year. They barely beat the Ravens 27-24 and lost to the Chargers. Other than that they were playing mediocre teams at Arrowhead.

Exactly. This and their Swiss cheese of a defense makes this a lot different than when we went to Denver a few years back.

Double the speedy woman beater all game. As for Kelce, could Gilmore cover him?
They'll probably put Chung on himjust say game day thread can be more fun

If we win the toss and defer, we'll have a golden opportunity to set the tone on defense with a stop or turnover and then a TD on offense to shut the crowd up early. It'll be easier and easier from then on the more we do right. Gotta be intop of our game

Yes or no: the team defines a successful season by whether or not they win the Super Bowl?

Plus in Lucas and Ward they are playing a couple of kids in the secondary now. It gives them more speed but they are inexperienced.

....and we all know what Tom does to inexperienced defensive backs.

Stop it this debate was never about how one defines success. You said the season was over in early December. Its not.

But if you want to make it about your definition of success let me ask this. Do you think they can win the SB this year?

Great. So I'll pencil you in for a yes there. Having come to that agreement...

Sure it is. If the season is a success based on whether or not the team wins the Super Bowl and if the team doesn't win the Super Bowl, the season will have been over and I will have been 100% correct. You creepily stalking me around the forum and trying to change the definition of what success is and how the season is defined does nothing to change that. You can choose to be the equivalent of a 2000s Colts fan if you wish, but I'm a Pats fan. Super Bowl W or bust for me.

Hi answer was that he'd think about it and let you know

Now can we stop the bickering about next-to-nothing and discuss Patriots-Chiefs?

No. I've made that quite clear. In many of my analyses, I've also added in that I think they can get there, but I don't think they have enough to get them over the top. Again, that's always made very clear. If I'm wrong, I'll happily be the first to own it just as I've done in the past. For the record - I sincerely hope I am.

He's got quite the unhealthy obsession. Believe it or not, it was off of one passing comment that I believe that most homers are front runners. Why anyone would still be butthurt about that nearly a month later is absolutely beyond me. At your request, I'll go ahead and drop it.

I just wanted you to state it again. Here we are in the final four and you Don't think BB and TB can get it done.

The expectations for me and what I base the season as a success or failure upon is a Super Bowl win. It has been that way and it will be that way until Bill and Brady are gone. I made that quite clear about a month ago when I hurt SBB's feelings which has resulted in the manchild creepily stalking me around the forum. You have the GOAT HC and the GOAT QB

See my issue with this is that you are reducing success down to a coach and a quarterback in a team game where often a single injury can alter the trajectory of your season. Judging success solely on winning the title is kinda absurd to me because of how much random elements affect everything.

But whatever floats your boat.

You guys know I love you, but OMG, please not "the season is a failure/success" argument AGAIN. It was boring enough the first time.
I will stop now since you are the second person to ask and since he has made his position clear.
I tried to give him a chance to admit he was wrong he has instead doubled down on quitting on TB and BB.

Whenever they win the toss and elect to receive, I always get a bad feeling for some reason. I'm glad yesterday was different, but if the opportunity arises in KC, I hope they defer.

I was out with friends this weekend, none of whom have a rooting interest or particular dislike for any of the remaining teams. They pretty much all want KC to win simply because they're tired of seeing the Pats in the SB. That's actually quite a compliment if you think about it.

Regards,
Chris
