We played a very balanced game last time. 24 pts (4 scoring drives) 1st half, 19 pts (5 scoring drives) 2nd half. They didn't seem to have an answer for our offense even late in the game. If we hadn't beaten ourselves it could have been worse for KC. And if you take out the Pats fumble and Kareem Hunt that game changes drastically.

For sure that was in Foxborough, but I see no reason we shouldn't be able to quiet the crowd at least by the end of the 1st quarter. We just got on a new hot streak. I feel good about this even if on the road. But this could easily be a low scoring close game. But that is if, and only if, Reid figured something out after the game about how to stop our offense because he sure didn't during the game even down to the end. This should be a good game either way

Run... the... football. The Colts abandoned that wayyy too early and were having success when they did so. Run the ball, get into short yardage situations on second and third down, and win the T.O.P. game within the game.

Might want to check your math.

I wouldn't expect a whole lot of zone defense in this game by either team. The Colts made the mistake of playing a lot of Cover-3/quarters defense because they didn't feel they could man up with KC's receivers and wanted to prevent the big play and they got killed that way. The Chargers got torn apart by Brady doing the same thing. I think both teams come out playing a lot of man coverage which could lead to both defenses tiring out by the 4th quarter and a scoring explosion.

I want Dorsett. If KC has ressources allocated to #11, #87, #15, #28, I like Dorsett’s chances to shine. Can’t believe NE went away from him this year and the trade that brought him here : win for NE.

Agreed. The Colts won there a couple years ago so the venue shouldn’t be the difference. Do what you say, Pats should win.

Of course made the mistake of tuning into WEEI and they have zero chance and Mahomes is the GOAT.

Sigh.

I rewatched the week 6 game last night..

KC kick return game shredded us.. they were set on our 3 yard line and then 3 other times well past the 30.

Brady had a fluky fumble, it was awkward.

Kareem Hunt got past the defense on a sideline wheel route for looong TD.

When we pressured Mahommes he barely made any completions, and no big plays.

I think we should have won by 2 TDs

Damien Williams is my concern. I think the Pats can contain the KC offense. Double Hill, put Gilmore on Watkins, Kelce is talented, but soft as puppy ****. Chip, hit, pound him at the line and I think he folds. Contain Mahomes. He'll get his plays, but its gonna be a hard, cold field, If he wants to run, maybe he gets tired early on. This is game 18 for him, he didnt play last year and in college he played 12-13 games. Big spotlight for the kid. But that leaves Williams, who has been impressive.

I take nothing from the KC win over the Colts other then this is the same soft Colts team we've seen in the past. Once you take a dome team out of their environment and put them in the elements they are done. Both physically and mentally. Pats wont have that problem.

I only saw from the mid 3rd on of the KC/Colts game and it was at a bar, so not the best viewing (no DVR!!!!) But can anyone confirm that it did look like the cold weather slowed KC down somewhat? They didnt seem to be as quick and fluid as we usually see.

The weather did, and Mahomes wasn’t that good. Ball didn’t come out well like normal.

We will be fine as long as we know what the chiefs are doing on defense. Assuming they don’t disguise their coverages. May need to switch to a silent count for this game because arrowhead is loud. I hope it’s not like the 2013 game against Denver when Denver’s offense moved on us at will and started out up 24-3. I’m more worried about the defense.

I’d double Hill with Jackson/McCourty as JC is elite down field. Double Kelce and eliminate Watkins with Gilmore bring pressure on Mahomes and dare them to run.
That's what we did last time. Gilmore shut down Watkins but the Hill part didn't go so well. It will be interesting how things go this time.

Chung should survive against Kelce. I would put JC on Watkins, he would probably do fine. And I'd put Gilmore on Hill, with help. Last time we had a good number of zero blitzes, I think we'll be more conservative this time.

Although Williams' numbers are about the same as Hunt's, he's not the same threat. I believe we can "play the pass" more not and let the run do what it does; with Hunt he could/would kill you if you did that.

Single digit weather will slow down just about any offense. TB12 has been there, done that though, so many times, in frigid conditions.

Mahomes didn’t seem to have a problem in 20 degree weather

Rope a Dope Parcells Giants vs Bills game plan.

1 Control the clock on the ground.
2 Hit the KC receivers hard early and often. The Pats D punished the 2001 Rams this way.
3 Get in Kelces head and bait him into committing penalties. He is ready to go ballistic.
4 Gilmore on Hill or double?
5 Rivers was a statue. Mahomes wont be.
6 The Pats have offensive plays and defenses that they dont use during the regular season because once BB does that bell has been rung and those plays and schemes are now on film.

I know being on the road is scary, but we can do it. One game at a time. We've won on the road before and we've won on the road in the playoffs before, but the past is the past. We just have to play smart and disciplined. This team reminds me a bit of the '01 team.
