gronk
graham
witten
vernon davis
antonio gates
fred davis

just for starters..........hernandez would not cut it as a primary te on most teams......he'd be another dustin keller

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Gronkowski
Graham
Davis

In that order. Everyone after that hasn't been determined. Who should man the 4th spot?

Clearly not Pettigrew or Gresham.

Finley is under utilized and is inconsistent. Miller, Daniels, Olsen and Shockey play at a fairly good level.

Gonzalez and Witten are still excellent players. Gates is excellent when healthy.

Where does Hernandez fall? He has great numbers. Is he as dependable as these other guys after the top 3?

Davis is a phenomenal specimen but plays soft. I'd rank Witten above him.

Fair enough. Those TE's are more well rounded at their position than AH. However has several abilities that those guys do not have.

I'm interested in seeing the list of the 11-14 tight ends considered better than Hernandez.

Really, really interested.

I've thought about this, and I think there's only one way to interpret this statement, so here goes:

14 better tight ends than Aaron Herandez

1. Jessica Alba
2. Heidi Klum
3. Mila Kunis
4. Jennifer Lopez
5. Giselle Bunchden Brady (sorry, Tom, but this is the list)
6. Heather Locklear
7. Jessica Beal
8. Halle Berry
9. Brooklyn Decker
10. Claudia Schiffer
11. Kate Moss
12. Kim Kardashian
13. Angelina Jolie
14. Maria Sharapova
15. Aaron Hernandez

I'm not saying that Hernandez can't improve his standing, but it's going to take some work. If he cut down on his carb intake and committed to stair walking and heavy squat lifting a few times a week, he may one day be a better tight end than, say, Halle Berry. However, I don't think it's probable that he'll ever be near the top of this list.

Please never quote an IC post ever again. It's traumatizing to read his bilge.

respond to a response......you're pathetic......no matter how hard you try, you just can't ignore......loser

What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment. Reading your rare breed of stupidity is somewhat like watching a car accident in slow motion. I believe the term is hathos.

Says an idiot who compares Pat Chung's foot injury to that of a woman's menstruation cycle.

Not to mention argues that players who aren't playing due to injury should be counted as failed picks when evaluating BB's drafting.

It's like a preternatural level of derp. I can only hope it's an act, for his sake.

whats more stupid? the moron or the one arguing with him....you're such a fool

I can probably rattle off another half dozen TE's that would come in as more important/better than hernandez if you'd like

the notion that hernandez at his size could be a top primary TE is flat out stupid.....just like you

So you admit that you're stupid? That explains a lot.

Btw, Dallas Clark says hi.

If that isn't what you were inferring, then can you explain how looking at #s on nfl.com support AH not being a top 5 TE?

I'm not the one who brought up the numbers. That was Ausbacker.

Could you make a list of TE's you'd rank in front of AH with numbers to back it up?

Why? Numbers alone don't determine slotting. If they did, Graham would get the nod on catches and the only argument about he and Gronk would be the value of catch totals v. TDs and YPC. Instead, we look at other things like blocking to try painting a more complete picture for ourselves. I mentioned about 10 TEs that I could see people arguing as being above Hernandez, and that list was not exhaustive.

Feel free to offer us your subjective opinion with;

- the established criteria you've chosen to rate the TE's upon,
- statistical breakdown, &
- performance/criteria rankings.

You're a learned man and I assume you already have these details on file somewhere. Shouldn't be too difficult to present in the thread.

here's one for size.....

the only thing that makes hernandez a plausible consistent presence for the pats is the fact that the pats already have a real TE on the field at the same time.......

Does Gronkowski get open because teams focus on Wes Welker too?

There are three tight ends who I think are clearly better than Hernandez: Gronk, Graham, and Davis. There are many others who I don't know exactly how I'd rank them relative to him. You can make a very strong case for AH being in the top 5.

I get that some are trying to argue that maybe he isn't exactly a complete tight end, but most of the guys that put up big numbers aren't. That's what makes Gronk--and, to a lesser extent, Witten--so special.
