I think it's debatable that Graham is more important to his team but who'd you rather have?

We should've drafted Graham instead of Taylor Price. Imagine running sets with Gronk/Graham/Hernandez and Welker/Branch!

Okay, that was my Madden moment.

I took AH. I like his YAC ability, but it's really about even to me.

Hernandez has a soul. Hernandez all day!

Graham is arguably the best tight end in the game. Hernandez isn't even the discussion.

Graham, all the way.

Graham, all the way.

I appreciate you not taking the homer route like most will, but Graham isn't even a close second to Gronkowski.

Based on production however, I would take him over Hernandez, although Hernandez is easily a #1 TE for probably 28 or so other teams, and most likely a top 5 TE in the NFL.

Give Hernandez the spotlight and a good QB and I believe he'd consistently have games similar to Sunday.

I voted for Graham obviously.

Yep, I went homer and I don't give a ****. AH compliments Gronk nicely. I'm not going to get in too deep thinking about a poll like this.

Of course, I do think that if you traded spots with Graham and Hernandez and have Graham sharing touches with Gronk, while AH gets to be Brees' exclusive TE target, it's a tougher call.

Gronkowski is considerably ahead of Graham when you consider his blocking advantage. Hernandez and Graham play dissimilar roles in each offense.

I believe Graham is the second best TE in football, Hernandez would be close to pushing top 5 if not in there already.

Depends. If we're doing this under the assumption that we already have Gronk, then I think Graham is a little redundant. I'll take the guy who is quicker and a little more versatile in Hernandez.

In general, Graham quite easily.

Graham has more receptions than Gronk even as part of a more diverse attack, and he is a more fluid runner. Gronk has a longer YPC because of his great YAC, and he's more of a monster to bring down. They've both been excellent this year, and you couldn't go wrong with either one as your choice for best TE in the league. I'd go with Gronk because of his blocking, myself, but either can have a case made for him, IMO.

Gonzalez and Gates, while still good, have clearly slipped. Finley, while a very gifted TE, is in a system which doesn't emphasize him, and he's probably a notch below the top dogs. Guys like Whitten, Miller, Daniels and others are excellent as well, but I'd also put them below the top guys. Moeaki can't stay healthy long enough to really get slotted among the top guys, Pettigrew is good but not at the top of the class. Gresham has been a notch or two what I think was expected of him.

No way Hernandez is a top 5 guy.

Just my $.02.

You're aware that Hernandez, despite missing 2 games is ranked;

#4 for receptions,
#6 for receiving yards,
#4 for receiving yards per game,
#4 for touchdown receptions.

I'd love to see you disprove that Aaron Hernandez doesn't have a case for being considered a top 5 TE in 2011.

I can appreciate all of that.

But, like you said, Gronk's blocking ability clearly puts him ahead. I don't think it is even close. Gronk doesn't go down, its that simple. Graham is a better pure receiver, much like AH, but nobody in the NFL does what Gronkowski does which is why I believe he is far ahead of the rest.

He plays every snap on offense, plays on at least one ST unit, and you can probably find him making an impact on every play even when he isn't catching a pass. Plus, his redzone production is unheard of for a TE, he already holds the TE TD record and still has 2 games left.

Different systems, sure, but Gronk is as productive as he is because he is always open. The system doesn't change that.

Graham would no doubt be an awesome compliment to Gronkowski, and he is certainly a step above Hernandez. I still do think that if Hernandez wasn't in the best TE's in the NFLs shadow he would probably be having a season similar to Graham or other top pass catching TE's.

Even playing along side Gronk he is having a better season that all but a small few TE's.

Love AH, but Graham.

I also feel comfortable ranking AH in the top 5 TEs.

On top of that he's competing for looks with the #1 most targeted WR and the 2nd most targeted TE in the NFL.

If I could have just 1 TE, I'd take Graham. Since we already have Gronk, I'd say that AH is the perfect foil for Gronk. If you watch the AH touchdown in the 1st half, Gronk was also open. Just too many options for Brady.

I'm aware of most of the top TE numbers in the league.

I don't think he's top 5 right now. I don't know that I'd slot him in the top 10 right now. I'm pretty confident that I'd slot him in the top 15 right now. You're welcome to your own opinion on it.

Well Deus, I'm flatly and bluntly telling you that you're misinformed and your opinion is worthless on this matter in face of the facts and player production. Spin that which ever way you want.

While I share your opinion, opinions can't really be wrong. It is just what he thinks. If he thinks 10-15 TE's are better than AH, who cares, I'm fairly certain that isn't the case, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find more than a small handful better, but that is my opinion, and nothing more.

1.) I'm not misinformed, unless you're claiming that the numbers, which are easy to get off of NFL.com, are actually incorrect somehow.

2.) Your opinion of my opinion is noted. It doesn't change where I'd slot Hernandez, and that's not in the top 5 of TEs this year, but is likely somewhere in the range of the back end of top 10 through top 15.
