Why is this thread still going on. The draft is done. Get over it. I have.....to some degree. Now its time to turn our thoughts to FA.....and the possibility we can once again begin to question and second guess the guy who has led this team to the best overall decade in franchise history, if not the entire league. Ain't being a fan wonderful
 
Because you started it, Ken. There's an old arabian proverb that goes there are four things that come not back, the spoken word, the sped arrow, the past life and the neglected opportunity. Maybe you should ask a mod to lock this for you...
 
The only possible defense of the Burgess move at this point is that BB knowingly overpaid to maintain the Davis connection (e.g. Al said "give me the third of I never trade with you again).

At this point, yeah. Burgess was clearly a loss.


That being said, like any other DE-OLB conversion, that's tough to know beforehand.


I think BB is good enough at his job though, to think that Burgess probably had a better shot of converting than most of the guys that people on this forum think they should have drafted.


The fact that he failed doesn't mean it wasn't worth taking a shot.
