A competent QB and BB won't let Squeelers back in games

I think we will score easily and often with our running and passing attack. The Steelers run D struggled against the Bengals. IMO I think we have the edge in Offense, Defense, Special Teams and Coaching. That said, it should be a classic match up!

They don't remind me of that season's Jets in the least. The team that reminds me the most of that one in the AFC is the Jaguars.

I like the Jags comparison but the more I thought about it, the more the Steelers comparison makes sense to me. They have a ****ty overrated QB, (Sanchez was "upcoming") and keep squeaking by mediocre teams and getting hyped as a contender.

All that being said...the 2010 Patriots arguably looked more dominant than this team and we know what happened.

The 2010 team allowed only 47 points in their final 5 games because they forced an absurd 18 turnovers over that span.

The 2017 defense is vastly superior and its not even close.

Offensively that team caught fire but because they are more diverse, I'd rather have the 2017 offense.

Bad QB play is right. Dalton was the opposite of clutch during the last 5 minutes of the game. He had a 7 point lead and the ball with 3.50 minutes to go and the team goes 3 and out to give the Steelers the ball back with plenty of time. It was pathetic.

As talented a team as the Steelers are, they don't really concern me to be honest. I don't mean to come off smug or dismissive, because they're certainly capable of beating us, but their head coach sucks and they seem to be a bunch of selfish, egotistical divas who are more concerned about their individual stat lines and being in the spotlight than they are about being a cohesive, disciplined team. I bet they spend more time devising and choreographing their dumb TD celebrations than they do studying opponents.

Put it this way, I'd rather face the Steelers in the playoffs than a less talented but more focused team like the Ravens.

You are what your record says you are. There are no style points in the NFL. They are 10-2, and will be a challenge. Stopping Bell, ball security and converting 3rd downs are the keys as always against them.

1. Bell's hesitation step plays right into BB's gap dicipline defense.

2. With their best corner either out or banged up they don't have the horses to cover man. They will still try to cover man anyway because Brady carves up their zone. Their screwed either way.

3. They have no answer for Gronk...never have. Despite the meltdown, it seemed like last game, second half, Brady could have gone to Gronk on every play.

They have no choice but to hold him. It's worth the risk because it doesn't get called. It may even go the other way.
Sucks, but that's life.
If you're very sucessful, the other *****-ass owners are going to whine you don't play fair.
Unfortunately, this current morally bankrupt, scumbag front office is too weak to rise above that level of pettiness....and that's essentilly their primary responsibility.
The inmates (owners) are truly running the assylum...that's what McNair was referring to. He was mis-quoted if you care to actually research it.

The Steelers are still the same team on defense that they've always been. They zone blitz a ton. That's literally all that needs to be said. However, I'm going to add something else: their offense is atrocious as well.

I dont mean this come across poor taste and I genuinely want the kid playing on the field ASAP but the loss of Shazier is obviously a big deal for Pitt. So fast. Great feel for pass defense. Incredibly athletic. Big blow.

Is it likely that he will miss the patriots game? Idk yet. I somehow expect Haden to be back for the pats game.

Because its a spinal injury I have to imagine they'll sit him. 2 weeks for a spinal injury to heal seems very short. Maybe I'm wrong?

Haden just came off crutches. If he plays vs NE i'll be shocked but he should be back for the playoffs.

It would be classic Steelers if they rush Haden back for the Pats game just to have him aggravate something and be out for the rest of the season. Gives their coaching staff and fanbase even the annual injury-based excuse that they crave so much..

There seems to be concern for a spinal contusion - different than concussion. Would involve some cord injury. He is not out of the woods. He is not playing in 2 weeks.

I was really hoping the Pats were going to be able to draft him, but sadly no.

I was just reading up on it.

Depending on the severity it could take days or weeks to fully recover. As Schefter said they won't know for sure for another 24-48hrs as the the swelling will dissipate.

After reading this, I just can't imagine he'll play in two weeks. This is scary s**t

For example, the swelling a contusion can cause will often disrupt nerve impulses that travel from the brain to the body through the spinal cord, and the severity of this will depend upon the level of injury. Unlike a concussion, a contusion would not cause unconsciousness or a ‘blackout’, but instead cause the patient to feel a numbness or tingling in the extremities.

A contusion can cause spinal compression, which happens when there is pressure on the spinal cord. This can go on to cause an array of physical symptoms such as loss of sensation in the feet, inability to use the hands and loss of sexual ability. It must be noted that not all contusions cause spinal compression, and not all spinal compression is caused by a contusion, although they do often connect this way.

As I remember it from some of the articles about Kevin Everett's spinal cord injury (a decade ago now), it's the pressure on the nerves cause by the swelling of the surrounding injured tissue that can cause the long term nerve damage. Everett's recovery was miraculous but took a long time. IIRC, it was a couple of weeks before he regained feeling in his extremities and a couple of months before he was able to walk at all.

I hope that Shazier recovers from this to the extent that he'll be able to resume his career, but it may be enough just to hope the guy will be able to walk again

Dalton's receivers had a lot to do with his choking.
