99 ex-Patriots sit on active rosters, practice squads and IR lists around the league

Is 99 a lot? It proves what? Patriots are good at drafting? BB is a good GM? It's meaningless.

Your retort that "it lists the patriots players" is what's called a non sequitur. It makes no sense, doesn't address my point at all.

The dude who posted his incorrect opinion about an article he hadn't read is calling me stupid. hahahaha

Nice try with the doubling down btw.

Your original point was that 99 wasn't a lot because 65 "or so" were still on the Patriot's roster. Now you're trying to backtrack. It isn't working. Keep posting though because your hawt takes are awesomely wrong.

He's gone from the thread - Calling a member stupid and a fool in a trivia kind of thread is way over the top.
He did it to you and me -

Pretty intense discussion. I'd hate to see him at McDonalds if he got an extra pickle on his burger. :D

Yet there are some truly comical lemmings on the board who constantly insult posters who have a different opinion from their own and who have never been removed from a thread.

Hmmm...

Apparently the norm for an idiot like you is that can't understand a simple post.

I deal with statistics every day so I recognize that when a number is used without context it can sound meaningful without being so.

You are a fool. 99 players, so what? What's the average? It's a poor way to judge drafting or GM efficacy. You're a buffoon though so I wouldn't expect you to understand anything about numbers.

Umm, it is pretty clear that you were saying that the total included the current Patriots active roster, so calling other people idiots for reading your post correctly seems less than courteous.

A meaningless number. 65 of those or so are current pats. Given the number of journeymen who have played on 4 or 5 or more teams, it's impossible to know what the league average is. Plus many of those are borderline (jag) players almost by definition.

So, BB finally admits that Captain Stone and other Patsfan posters who decried the cutting or trading of their binkies were right!

Respect for the Captain - the guy is very sharp IMHO. He's an independent thinker and his takes are sometimes "out there" but usually thought-provoking and well worth one's attention and most importantly always with the best interests of the Pats at heart.

And humorous. In a good way.

A pity that Bill & Chris Long couldn't work out something for another year here. I don't know why he would want him in coverage anyway, so that should never have been a sticking point in negotiations at all, if it ever was.

I would've tried to re-sign Michael Floyd, originally as Malcolm Mitchell insurance. He could've come in handy here, maybe.

Still wish that we could've talked another team into giving us more for Jacoby Brissett, if we had even trade him at all, especially when the future Jimmy G trade is taken into account.

Is Jake Hollister really that much more valuable/higher-ceilinged than the more experienced, both at the LOS and on STs, James O'Shaughnessy? There's been no reason shown to confirm this, so far at least. He quite possibly would've cleared waivers and been available to re-sign to the PS, thus keeping him in the building.

I believe that my feelings concerning both the Cassius Marsh and the Kony Ealy situations have been made fairly clear by now.

Wonder if a stronger effort had ever been made to re-sign Devin Lucien to the PS here. Bill obviously must've seen something he liked from him at the time of the 2016 draft, and he looked like he was having a better pre-season this year than he had last year.

Captain is a passionate, hard core fan. Hes a good egg.

Tre Jackson: damaged goods from even before the draft. No way would I have taken him in the 4th round…or the 5th…

Strange that Willie Beavers isn't on at least a practice squad at this time. If it's a case of his somehow squandering his chances, then that's too bad.

That Bill traded anything at all, even if just an end-of-7th-rounder, for Michael Williams still pisses me off a little.

At least we know where Glenn Gronkowski is some of the time. I wouldn't mind riding the Gronk Bros Party Bus myself.

Also strange that Max Rich isn't on a roster at this time. I assume that he has other options besides pro football, but I also felt that he could've been an eventual NFL-caliber OLman of at least backup quailty, with the possibility, however unlikely, of becoming a starting LT if he really wanted to make the necessary sacrifices.

Anthony Fabiano (and the previously-listed Cole Toner) wouldn't be the worst developmental C/G to have on a PS either.

It's perhaps telling that he was originally let go by the Vikings and then went back to their PS after his two weeks on the Pats PS - and then lasted only about a week with the Vikes.

At my age, I doubt I'd survive the Gronk Bros Party Bus for more than a couple of miles.

Last I heard, Max Rich had set up his own hedge fund and was raking in a cool half-mil a day. ;)

Freeny now with the Saints.

What amazes me is that, according to tinfoil Colts/Jets/Bills/Dolphins/Ravens fans, the Patriots have countless secret cheating methods, yet all these guys who leave (some on bad terms) never "spill the beans". Must be huge payoffs, huh? ;)

Felger was just saying on the pregame show that this is Bill's way of defending himself as a GM against those, Iike Felger, who think BB had a bad off season with personnel.

We are living in an age of transparent and broadcast narcissism. That Felger would think that BB even knows who he is, much less wakes up in the morning worried about what he and others in the media are saying about him, is so misguided that it borders on mental illness. But there's a lot of that going on now so it fades into the woodwork.
