Sept. 7th will be the
eight month mark from the date of the surgery, and another injury fueled setback would go a long way towards steering Gronk's career in the total opposite direction. I couldn't imagine what the psychological negatives would do to him, let alone all of the talk that would come with it. There's also a pretty significant contract bonus at stake for both parties, so that's something to keep an eye on as well.
Even Adrian Peterson, who set the bar with his 9 month return, is a rare case. If you're seriously expecting Gronk to somehow top that under his
specific history and circumstances, then my fear is that you very well may end up disappointed.
Anything in the first 3-4-5 games will be a blessing in my eyes. I'm not doubting the beast that is Rob Gronkowski, I am just looking at something a bit more realistic from my perspective.
