I was hopeful about the Vildor signing. He's making a strong case to be the #4 CB and 1st off the bench, supplanting Charles Woods who got it by default when Austin sucked last year..

The #4/#5/#6 CB battle is going to be a good one.

What I like about Williams is he’s good at catching the deep ball, similar to Boutte. It’s nice to have home grown talent that don't drop deep passes.

I'm not sure DeGennaro plays the slot WR (Y) and I think that Y position comes down to Douglas and Chism. Hollins can play flanker (Z) and slot along with Doubs but Brown, Boutte, Williams and DeGennaro are in the X spot.

So when comparing receivers, I think the primary role they play (X, Y or Z), what kind of position flexibility they have and special teams contributions are factors that need to be considered

Everyone plays inside. The Wes Welker type of slot is not a starting position or a necessity at all. Every team uses 3 WRs and they use their best 3. They don’t require a spot for shifty guy wining short routes. It’s nice to have one for 3 downs but any receiver can run there routes from inside.

CB depth was a huge question mark for me, I’m excited about the good reports on both Vildor and Prunty.

But it’s hard to believe the name Kindle Vildor isn’t AI-generated.

Agreed. I've taken to ignoring guys like Carr because they have no clue how other teams actually work,.

With Wallace gone - who is the most likely guy to be that 9th OL - Guard backup?
Seems Butler is the guy. And I still think Ben Brown is a lock with his OC/OG versatility and experience here.

It could be Butler or some other developmental player who will be dressed just a few times during the season.

It was obvious Wallace was a flop, but with a third round pick you have to give it time.

...but yes, you are right deGennaro is bigger faster and seems to be capable to making a big play. BUT none of that matters when the CHIS's name is invoked.

These times look pretty ordinary to low to me. Baringer was a weak link toward the end of the season last year and was worse in the playoffs which was surprising given that early in his career he was one of the "bigger" legs in the league IIRC. These times don't make me feel it was just an off year. Is his leg gone?

If the team thought there was an issue, there'd be competition in already. Without hesitation.

DeGennaro is a bigger Pop Douglas, not a bigger Chism.

What Chism has that sets him apart is not straight-line speed but quickness and strength for his size.
