PostGame Thread 2026 Official Postgame Thread: Patriots close out preseason w/37-13 loss to the Browns

Immediate Postgame Reactions
They are still better than the Patriots. And with the game being in Seattle, it's looking like a loss. Spread will probably be similar to the SB.

After that: vs Steelers, @Jags, @Buffao.

It would be amazing to come out of that stretch at 2-2.
No doubt The Sea Hags have a very good Team especially on Defense. I think Maye will be much better prepared this time around: also I think our Offense will be better than last time. Not saying we're going to win but stranger things have happened. I am intrigued to see our Starting Defense play: they weren't the reason why we lost the SB. Our OLinemen got man handled I hope it's in the back of their minds.Wilson @ Center - Vera -Tucker @ Guard and healthy Will Campbell should do wonders.

Vrabel probably moved Hudson from tackle to guard because he had too many tackles. I doubt Hudson makes it past Sunday.

Hudson was moved to guard because they have only 4 interior people for 3 positions.

If there are a couple of gameday injuries who have they prepared as a 5th interior backup?

I can't think of anyone.

James Hudson III is not very good sorry.

Hudson has looked less bad at tackle might be a better way to say that. He was dogshit on the Giants last year so he has a track record.

I think Hudson was ok at tackle during camp.

There is no one else for 5th backup on the interior. They gave the other tackles close to zero reps there.

Why would they only prepare Hudson?

Unless Ben Brown is returning, which is possible, how else would we explain this?

Rizy, Conley
last year, the active 5th was often Wallace or nobody or someone that is signed to the PS on Monday and elevated.

The Coaches are not perfect they thought Caedan Wallace was a football player; cut em some slack.

I didn't think it was possible, but Rizy is worse than Hudson.

Conley is a possibility I guess.

Hey, they got something for that guy. One of the Great Moments in Front Office History.

They had a Guard last night who was a Turnstile I don't even care to know his name. Hope he's bagging groceries Monday morning: because Football will not be his thing.

So many of them looked bad.

I really don't have faith in Lomu or Crossover yet. And who knows with Bryant. None of them have really been tested.

They guaranteed Hudson almost half of his salary.

You're probably right, but I'm not positive he's a goner. Tackles are a tough position to find.

Who did they have last year as a 5th interior backup? It is someone on the practice squad. Same every year.

Dude Sucks. I hope they didn't play him last night because they intend on keeping him .
You said that often about Gibson. I don’t think Jam or Lan suck…just different styles.

I like Jam for an early down role.
He's more like Rham than Trey.
If Rham was to go down, Jam would be the most suitable replacement.
He's not overly elusive or dynamic, but he's quite physical despite his stature.
He was also a pretty good receiver for Bama in limited opportunities.
I like Larison too, but he's more of a limited snap, all around type of guy (the Burkhead comps are not by accident).

Jam is a bigger slower 1st down Dion Lewis….his jump cut is killer. He has a higher ceiling in that regard than Lan. Lan is Rex Burkhead…not as dynamic with the ball but is an excellent 3rd down receiving back. Lan is a tough dude but his kamikaze style of running will get him hurt more so then Jam. IMO Rex’s style of running is not sustainable for very long.

Crownover is a better run blocker than pass. On the right side that is ok with Maye being a righty. I think the future with Crownover starting at RT is not a bad thing. IMO with reps…Crownover will be a better RT than Lomu. People here get weird about draft position but I dont care…at all. As long as the line is stout and performs well…who cares.

How I have the roster right now.

QB (2) Drake Maye, Tommy DeVito
RB (4) Rhamondre Stevenson, TreVeyon Henderson, Reggie Gilliam, Lan Larison
TE (3) Hunter Henry, Eli Raridon, Tanner Arkin
WR (6) A.J. Brown, Romeo Doubs, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, DeMario Douglas, Efton Chism III
C (2) Jared Wilson, Ben Brown
G (3) Mike Onwenu, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Greg Van Roten
T (5) Will Campbell, Morgan Moses, Caleb Lomu, Dametrious Crownover, James Hudson III
ED (4) Dre’Mont Jones, Gabe Jacas, Elijah Ponder, Bradyn Swinson
DT (5) Christian Barmore, Milton Williams, Cory Durden, Joshua Farmer, Leonard Taylor III
LB (4) Robert Spillane, Christian Elliss, K.J. Britt, Namdi Obiazor
CB (5) Christian Gonzalez, Carlton Davis, Marcus Jones, Karon Prunty, Kindle Vildor
SS (3) Dell Pettus, Jaylen Reed, Mike Brown
FS (2) Kevin Byard, Craig Woodson
ST (3) Andy Borregales, Julian Ashby, Matt Haack

Total Players: 51

IR/PUP/NFI - Marcus Bryant - DFR, Baringer - DFR, Schooler - Landry (PUP), Schooler - NFI

PS - Morton - QB, Miller - RB, Haskins - RB, Dixon - WR, Butler - OG, Westover - TE, (Crowner eventually may get cut once Bryant is back and head here if they decide to keep Hudson), Luketa - Edge, Hutchins - Edge, Gainer -Edge, Taylor - DT, Jacobs - LB, Canada - CB, Saunders - S

Thoughts - Gregory or/and Taylor is close. I think they pick one. As for the lack of edge... They may just go light here till they get Landry back then move someone down, though if someone shakes loose they will not hesitate. I also see them looking for a run stopping DT and LB off waivers. As for CB.. Woods even though he played okay last year has been bad all preseason. He is out. Vildor sucked last game but he has a long career track record and was good the first 2 games. Also yes, I have Hudson making it for now with Bryant out. Him inside was an utter failure, but when he briefly played outside we saw what he can do. If his place here (which it may be in the future once Bryant comes back) is based on him able to be spot flexible he is gone. For now his value as an OT is enough.

Hardest cuts which may not make the PS are Brown - Safety. Luketa was tough too. But i just think Swinson is better right now. But could be wrong.

Jam Miller can play. And that’s from a GA fan who hates Bama. He probably goes unclaimed though.

That said, Henderson is actually the player I’m eyeing sideways.

Learn some friggin spatial awareness kid!

Rham and Jam, we still taking about RBs

Game 1 could be Larison but he could also get hurt. Jam is a different player but could be just as productive in different ways. I think injuries will dictate who will have the most carries / yards in 2026.
