Absolutely not expecting a W in week one for the Pats. I just hope they're competitive and look like they belong on the same field as the Seahawks.. unlike a certain recent game I shall not mention.
I expect us to win. Two different teams will take the field Sept 9th.

The Seahawks spent the past. 4-5 seasons building up to a Super Bowl appearance, the Patriots went from the worst team in football to the Super Bowl in 1 season. Slight difference.

Uh, lol... but the bad advice came from Saban and Urban Meyer.

And Sperm Edwards, all "buddies" who would rather slap their own backs than give you or Bill an honest answer.

p.s.: Are you referring to Mac Jones when you mentioned Saban? Because I'm not sure he really did much deceiving there: most of the league knew that Corky possessed a below-average NFL arm and was a bit of a pouter & hothead when things didn't go as he wanted... The hope was that with consistent, competent coaching & protection he could be the proverbial Game Manager and not lose for you while growing stronger both physically & mentally... Besides, Scam Newton Part Deaux was Not an option; and even without trading-up for him, Corky was still on the board at 15, so Bill HAD to take him there, even if his heart wasn't really in it... It worked, to a point, with McD that first year; but without him that 2nd year, Corky fell completely apart, as I'm sure Bill already knew was a possibility; so I don't really think that Saban was terribly misleading in this particular case.

For me, it's the mental makeup. It was all wrong. Saban knew it. He didn't tell him. OR what I really think:

Saban DID tell him. Which is why Belichick in the draft room hesitated before the pick and asked if everyone was now on board. My reading is that Belichick got some fuzzy feedback about the guy's mental makeup and so they decided they would definitely not trade up for him. Remember when everyone thought the Patriots would trade up to 5 or 6 or whatever? So when the moment came at 15, Belichick basically said, OK, he dropped all the way to us. Do we still have doubts at pick 15? The only thing I'll say in retrospect is that pick after pick after pick 15 busted, so it's not like we would've grabbed a player there anyway. It was a sucky draft. The best player from 15 to our selection of Barmore in the second round is Gregory Rousseau. Pretty underwhelming.

Mike McDonald was in year two, Vrabel in year one… the Pats are ahead of schedule.

Question: Has Gonzo matched up with Justin Jefferson yet? I can’t remember.

Ahead of Sunday's FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium, dozens of NFL players including Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams and Washington Commanders offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil took to social media Friday with the hashtag #WorthTheCost to express their desire for permanent grass playing surfaces.

MetLife Stadium is among the venues that replaced its artificial turf with grass for the 78 FIFA World Cup games hosted by NFL stadiums this summer.

"If stadiums can make grass work for the World Cup, they can make it work for NFL players. We're #WorthTheCost," Tunsil wrote in a post on X.
