I was just reading about Birdow, I was curious how that kind of athletic specimen ended up at Merrimack. It turns out he was recruited to Old Dominion as a DT but was buried on the depth chart, and the Merrimack coach suggested a position change. So he’s not only coming from a low level of competition, he also has only two years experience at OL. Rawer than raw, but intriguing upside for the practice squad.
Our PS looks to have some promising players.

I expect we’ll get raided.

It is amazing how far we have come in just one season with the addition of a competent coaching staff and front office.

Last year was so bad it will be easy to move on from it.

another surprise on my early 53 and Marcus Bryant on the PS

Given that Orlando Brown Jr. was a 7th Round Pick and Alaric Jackson was an UDFA, I'm really reluctant to place either on the PS. Especially if they show they're taking to coaching and show promise in training camp. If so, I can see both of them being signed off of the PS by other teams. And Bryant is 6'7 and 320lbs with room to grow and already a solid pass protector (he just needs work on his run blocking), and Conley is 6'7 and 330 lbs and has played every OL position but Center.

You're right he probably will not make it through waivers but given that he was a 7th rounder it is possible. I have Birdow on my early 53 but it might make more sense to put him on the PS and Bryant on the 53.

I find his shuttle time concerning though

Bryant's or Birdow's shuttle time?

You know Pene’s nickname will be Pene alla Vodka or Penne Al Fredo

It's said that Bryant's pass protection is already NFL Caliber. He's also solid against EDGE/Speed Rushers. It's just his Run Blocking that needs work, but that can easily be coached. He's said to be a better version of Patrick Paul.

Great...just after Clonamery got me fantasizing about Birdow's athleticism.
Ha, and after I went to the trouble of digging up the photo of Birdow going up against Campbell, sigh....His Patriots career was amazingly short, but I am not sure it is the shortest tenure....

B-b-but C-C-Cole B-B-Birdow…?

Happens every year here. That’s what happens when actual Talent isn’t drafted in the 6th & 7th rounds.

Never heard of the dude before he signed here; and I very seriously doubt I’ll hear of him afterwards.

A better version of a 2ND-Round draft pick?!?

Stop it.

Dude never, ever, Ever should’ve been drafted ahead of Logan Brown.

UDFA talent, Practice Squad at best.

Cole Strange was a 1st Round Draft Pick. Additionally, Orlando Brown JR. was a 7th Round Pick and Alaric Jackson (who the Patriots were hoping for in Free Agency), was an UDFA.
