Sounds like he wants to stay in L.A.

Maybe. Or he might be able to be lured away. Many times players say they want to stay with their team until they end up signing with another team.

The Chargers have the most cap space. So there is good chance they will give Oweh a deal as good or better than anyone else. But the Chargers also have a lot of needs and roster spots to fill. So there is always a chance another team could give him a more attractive offer.

Plus, if the Pats go to the AFCCG, Super Bowl, and/or win the Super Bowl, that might make it tempting for him to leave.

It is the politically correct thing to say you want to stay with the team you play for when you are approaching free agency. Only a percentage of the players who say that actually mean it.

It would make more sense for the Rams/Bears game to be the late game since LA is pacific time and Chicago is central time, their fans would want to have the game later. Houston, Pitt and NE are all eastern time so the earlier game makes most sense.

The NFL "making sense" ended with defaltegate.

IF Gonzo is back and IF we continue to build on the performance tonight, I think we could hold both Pitt and Hou scoreless.

The defense showed a flare today that it hadn't since the injuries started. That was encouraging to see
I will take a win next week, no matter what we give up.
The D was overwhelming in the 2nd, but we relied heavily on the blitz.
It was quite discouraging to see them struggle so much in the first half getting pressure with a 4 man rush against such a beat up Chargers Oline.
It was really evident when watching, and Collingworth mentioned a couple of times in the first half how it was surprising to see NE struggle to get pressure in the first without blitzing.
This highlighted our need for a difference making Edge rusher.
Once we dialed up the blitz and confused LA with our coverage we were off to the races, but I can’t imagine we can rely that heavily on the blitz moving forward.

Watch them blow old man Rodgers up tonight. I will be surprised if he plays the entire game.
You could be right.. I just don't trust Houstons offense.. steelers are a veteran team that can capitalize off TOs.. I want them anyways to avenge that regular season loss and send AR to retirement..

The only QB that scares me is Josh Allen.. if we win and have to go to Denver I'm confident we can handle nix.

They have to do something to stop the Texans pass rush if they win tonight. Screens, getting it out extremely quickly.

Maurice Jones-Drew goes from the Patriots are going to lose to the Chargers to the Patriots are going to win the Super Bowl.

Gonzo's likely in protocol.. Hopefully he can clear it this week... good thing is he remained in the game after the play but then the spotters grabbed him.. we will need him.. Jennings and ponder have been impressive and I love the rotation of guys we can throw at offensive lines now.. Williams is a beast..

1 - I'm sure that Rahm has already been mentioned. I was hoping that they would involve him more in the passing game and it sure has paid off.
2 - Boutte is back - 4 for 4 @ 66 yds.
3 - Maye beat zone coverage on the Henry TD. Beautiful throw on the money.
4 - LAC only converted 1 of 10 on 3rd down.
5 - Pats defense was suffocating. Mconkey had the best night with a paltry 32 receiving yards. LAC could not run. Herbert was able to rush for 57 yds @ 5.7 ypc because there was nothing in the pass game and he scrambled. Pats D kept everything in front of them Hoodie style.
6 - Vrabes has a lucky Hoody. He has worn the exact same Hoody at least twice in wins that I have noticed.
7 - No more razzle dazzle Chism to Maye plays. Mickey D reached way back for that one. Brady caught a pass (2001?) just like that play down the other sideline same direction.

After last night, I think I want the Pats to target Odafe Oweh in free agency this offseason. He was a stud for the Ravens last year with 10 sacks and then fell apart early this year where he was traded to the Chargers after week five and then went on to have 7.5 sacks for the Chargers in the regular season. Add the three sacks he had last night.

Pass rushers are really thin in free agency. Oweh might be the best when you factor in age and health. Trey Hendrickson is clearly the best pass rusher in free agency, but he is 31 and coming off a season long injury. I would probably take him over Jalen Phillips who will generate far more interest.
He's on my watch list along with Mafe in Seattle another edge demon... I also would still offer a 2 year deal to Hendrickson as well... the interior rush was dominant last night that's the type of interior pressure we were getting earlier in the season before injuries starting piling up. On offense yesterday probably a game where we really felt the impact of not having big body Hollins in the red area..

Chargers players said themselves they didn’t know what coverages the Pats were in. Obviously, they were well prepared last night. But the Chargers had no answers anywhere.

To be fair, I do that watching every play. I just don't say it out loud on national media.

It's the rivalries one. And that dude loves a vest.

The Gillette crowd was spectacular last night, best I've ever been a part of. Everyone stood the entire game (as per usual during playoffs) and got REALLY loud.

I watched his post game interview and he was asked something about why he thinks they lost and he said something to the effect of we need to score more points to win.....Paraphrasing of course......but geez, thanks Captain obvious.
