Davis doesn’t have the closing speed to cover those scramble plays. When it turns into backyard football the receivers seem to consistently separate from him. Looks to me like he’s playing well on the structured stuff but when the rush can’t get home and the QB creates on the scramble, he’s struggling.
Not sure how much of that I’m going to blame him for but it’s something that I’m seeing consistently
While I get the whole “being down on Davis”, who’s the alternative ? The facts : when Gonzo was out, it was hard to watch at times. Davis is serviceable, while the next person up might not be.
I’d love to see the O get some back here. Last week’s second half was tough…
I love this defense. I would extra love if you couldn't pass on them either, but you can't have everything. You start the game one dimensional against this D
If they kick it they’re down by four, if they make the two they’re down by three so a FG ties. Down by four or down by five is no difference. So no downside and considerable upside.
Because our LBs and coverage aren’t great in coverage so they’re probably afraid of leaving the ones of that group not blitzing in one on one coverage too much which happens when you blitz.
