2025 HOF finalists- Rodney snubbed again

Rodney will never escape his “dirty player” rep. I think it was overplayed how dirty he was, but it will probably keep him out of the Hall.

I feel bad for Rodney, but he pissed a lot of people off over his career and that will kill someone that is sort of borderline.
Yup, rep as a dirty player (was voted even) and took HGH

Rodney not getting in is a shame
I guarauntee some writers are holding that positive steroid test that Rodney apologized for against him
Only because they don’t like him and yes he was the Proverbial Patriot

On,y because they don’t like him and yes he was the Proverbial Patriot
What about all the other players in with positive steroid tests? Or Peyton Manning having it sent to his ****ing house?

Yeah. I’m not calling him out on it
But it gives vindictive writers an out

I can see the argument for those two being "Their contributions didn't show up in the stat sheet. You'd have to really understand football and line play to appreciate how good they were." That's the exact same argument you'd make for Wilfork, though. Evans and Yanda were really, really good, but there's no way they should be advancing in the process instead of Wilfork.

As far as Rodney Harrison goes, every year the HOF voters intentionally exclude him and induct inferior players, they diminish the credibility of the Hall of Fame.
They are very good players but in my view did not have the impact on the game including SBs that Harrison and Wilfork had

You have to realize HOF voters are essentially very close to being the same group as All Pro voters. Which means things like:
-All Pros
-MVP's
-All Decade

hold a ton of weight.

Yanda has 7 All Pros (2 First Team and 5 Second Team). Gates has 6 (4 First Team, 2 Second Team). Evans has 5 (4 First Team, 1 Second Team).

Harrison by comparison has 3 (2 first team, 1 second team). That sort of puts him in a very borderline position. The Super Bowls theoretically should help, but the dirty rep sort of cancels that out and makes a lot of voters not want to reward him. Wilfork has 5, but only 1 is First Team. So it sort of puts him closer to Yanda. I think he gets in eventually.

SB's hold the most weight with QB's who they actually give the lionshare of the credit to. Which is why Eli is even in the discussion and why Ben will be a HOF'er someday

Rodney deserved to be Super Bowl MVP and he deserves to be in the HOF. But the truth is he’ll probably never get either.

Rodney Harrison was a bad ass S, but he was not well liked around the NFL - especially after the Trent Green hit.

A PED suspension didn’t hurt Julius Peppers. And it doesn’t seem to be hurting Antonio Gates.

Harrison joined the media after his playing career was over and he was far from a Patriots homer, saying Brady should wear a skirt on NBC. These guys who are voting against him are his peers and coworkers.

Another frustrating thing is Eli is going to eventually get in based on his playoff accomplishments. The only stat he ever led the league in during the regular season was interceptions. Meanwhile, the voters will keep Edelman out because, while his playoff numbers are great, his regular season totals are not compared to other WRs.

That attitude certainly endeared him to us lol he was the best. This is such a shame.

Not sure how they do what they do? My reasoning is simple regarding Harrison. Give me 10-15 safeties in the last 50 years that were better? He’s in that conversation and he’s got hardware along with a fierce reputation. I can name 30 receivers that were better than Heinz Ward with a glance at WRs that are in already.

From his era, Atwater, Lynch, and Butler are in. Harrison's stats compare favorably to each of those guys' stats, especially if value is given to the role he played in winning championships with the Pats. I'm sure that when his stats are compared to his peers who have been inducted, those who snubbed Harrison will say that "stats aren't everything" and babble about "character" and "leadership." Those same people will then play the opposite game and point to stats to induct or snub others when it fits their preconceived notions.

There is no doubt in my mind, and hasn't been for quite a while, that the HOF selection process is corrupt and that jealousy against the Patriots is rampant in that process. As with all such things one needs to look at who is involved. The focus has generally been on the writers who cast the deciding votes and not on the selection committees that determine the finalists for whom the writers vote. The membership of the selection committees is kept opaque (not transparent) exactly so the members have no fear of being held accountable. That is prime facia evidence of the corruption here.

I wish this didn't piss me off so much, but double standards, as with all forms of prejudice, strike a deep nerve with me. We Pats fans were expected for many years to support the NFL and cheer for the Packers, Dolphins, Steelers, Cowboys, 49ers, etc. When it finally was our team's turn to experience glory, all of a sudden there were different rules, rules which don't seem to be applied to the Chiefs.

Yeah, the Pats were dominant in a way those other dynasties (including the Chiefs) were not. Jealousy is a hell of a motivator.

And who knows? Seems like Kraft isn't well liked around the league (and getting a lot less graciousness here these days), so that's possibly a factor in the hate as well.
