They fell one yard short and I would take that % over a hail Mary.
If we had 6'4 Tee Higgins and 6'5 King Tet to go with 6'5 Hunter Henry and 6'4 Hooper. I will vote for the hail mary, but I agree the kick was the better call

Agree. Also it's a ******** excuse. What are you going to do with that spare challenge? There were less than 4 minutes to go. The worst that could have happened...is exactly what happened anyway.
I thought it was a catch, but I would've challenged for the break, basically a timeout

Duggar is a safety/lb hybrid. When you put him in man coverage on a WR that’s coaching. It’s like saying if we asked Douglass to block a DT it’s not coaching when he fails.

So you are saying Belichick is a bad coach? This year is far from the first time Dugger has gotten man coverage on a WR. All safeties draw man coverage on WRs. They don’t cover just TE and RBs.

Dugger started playing a more of a free safety type of role last year, not this year. You didn’t seem to have a problem with it last year.

How much cap room should we tie up in OT's?

As much as it takes. The top 3 needs are WR, LT and RT.
Agreed but I'd be leary on committing to much to a 30 plus year old OL. What we should do is offer bolles a 2 year deal while drafting at least 2 tackles. While also trading for or signing guys at WR..

Sorry, Dugger was awful on Sunday. He has been pretty bad all year. Saying he has been a liability in coverage this year and on Sunday would be overrating how he played. Not they are the be all and end all of evaluation, but both Bedard and Mazz had him in their three downs. Bedard does watch the game film. Bedard said he is beginning to wonder if Dugger needs a McCourty to tell him where to line and up and where to cover to be effective.

And as for the announcers, they were the D squad for a reason.

Whenever I see the ball being thrown to a person Dugger is "covering", I expect them to make a big play.
Not only did we pass up all those great WRs to trade down and draft this guy, we also passed up on pro bowler S and CB Antoine Winfield and T Diggs

No. We need to stop running schemes where a linebacker would be covering a WR1 30 yards downfield.
The player you're describing is a nickel corner, because that's not what a linebacker is EVER supposed to do.
You are correct. I was just eluding to the fact that we need to get faster and more athletic at LB in general. That is where the league is today. Having athletes on defense. Nickel CB is definitely needed in this defense. The regression from the secondary is a direct result of the scheme. Last season the second played well. For all the grief I gave myles Bryant he exceled as a Nickel CB last season.

Both Diggs and Winfield are having majorly disappointing seasons right now too.

I don't think Campbell was ever a coordinator. He had been mostly a TE coach and I think he was listed as an assitant head coach. I also don't know what you were responding to so this might not make anysense.
Oh, that's a good call. How involved in the offense is he?

Duggar was not left man to man with WRs when Belichick was the coach.

It was not one yard short. It landed one yard short of the crossbar. It was at least 5 yards short of good.

Hail Marys sometimes work. No human has ever made a 68 yard FG in any conditions in a game.

Very interesting.. the process accelerated for Bill. He realistically wasn't supposed to step away until after the 2025 season with having left the roster competitive for Mayo to step in. Obviously none of that happened. So here we are. I feel personally that being DC or OC is the level right underneath HC. Mayo should have taken that to bolster his football IQ and learning things from another organization.
Right. At least demonstrate you can succeed in a role in which you have to do almost all the things HC's have to do, just on one side of the ball. And though there's still a big gap between position coach and coordinator, you have a mentor that can guide you, show you your weaknesses, and help you get to the next level. But, from what I've seen of Mayo, I am convinced he would fail as DC. He's just not smart enough. He's a poor strategist, and too slow on his feet to be a good tactician when the scope of responsibility is broad. He was great at diagnosing a play and getting the defense ready for it when he was on the field, but that's a narrow scope of responsibility compared to what a DC has to do.

I believe Mayo's intelligent and some coaches just have different strategies on how they reach the players.. I remember Todd Bowles was criticized the same way Mayo was.. as he hardly engaged on the sidelines as well and wasn't really all that vocal. But Mayo's on the clock starting next season if it continues to look this way then he will be Done as a HC.

Real: Todd Bowles worked his way up the ranks and not kiss butt like Mayo. I wonder if RK was on a sedative when he decided Mayo would be this Teams next move as HC. Mayo have to be luckiest man alive I bet if he plays the powerball he might just win.

He was solid last season. Have to give him that. In his role as 3rd or 4th CB he was solid.
In zone I agree. In man coverage against a fast guy he was as bad as ever. Very similar to Richards. Good riddance. Bryant was on the Texans practice squad and was promoted to the 53 this week due to 3 injuries. Not a solid guy, a fillin from the practice squad.

Well I need Mayo's luck for power ball tonight. My luck I'll get a power bar instead of powerball ticket. I feel you brother. But we are stuck with Mayo until at least next season. If it continues to look bad then he will be out brother.

Richard's? Jordan Richard's? If so he was terrible.
