Mayo needs to STFU right now. He's really bad at talking to the media and it's making him look ridiculous. Just borrow Bill's stock answers if you need to.
I dunno, who cares if he says something a little stupid now and then? What's the harm? I find it refreshing that he tries to answer the questions. It's not like he's giving the opponents an advantage. I did appreciate Bill as a coach, but the mumbling a-hole thing was a waste of everyone's time. It is, after all, entertainment.

And it is entertaining when Mayo says something dumb and then has to walk it back.

Bill earned his gruff answers because he won. Mayo hasn’t earned his stupid answers that then need to be walked back because he loses. When Mayo wins some more games, his idiocy will be cute.

Typical of a loser mentally!

Mayo is a loser and his mentality is spreading to the entire team.
I think he’s reached the point of trying to argue that having a chance against a terrible team is a moral victory for this squad.

I care that evidently he IS stupid

If we really wanted entertaining we could have brought Jameis Winston in as QB. Then we could BOTH have Mayo saying dumb things AND Winston praying to stop the pick 6s.

Bedard said he is beginning to wonder if Dugger needs a McCourty to tell him where to line and up and where to cover to be effective.
That was Mazz that said this, but he is right. I've mentioned this a long time ago he isn't capable of covering much ground. He's high maintenance that needs two other S's to make him effective. There's a reason nobody wanted him in FA.

Idiotic signing.

Not surprising Wolf seemed like he was trying to trade him this fall but didn’t get bites with that contract.

I really don't follow anything Bedard and Mazz have to say. I trust myself 1000x more than them. Honestly. I thought Dugger had a good game.

When Jon Jones, Jaylinn Hawkins, Kyle Dugger, Dell Pettus are constantly out of position at the safety spot, Im going to blame the coaches, not the players. Why? Because they weren't out of position in the past.

But you are the dissenting opinion on this. I have yet to see anyone but you not pan Dugger in this game when discussing him. He has been awful since he came back from injury and wasn’t all that great before the injury.

And when I watch Dugger getting beaten like a rented mule in coverage, I blame Dugger not the coaching. Even when he is in the right position, he is getting beaten.

We have seen Belichick make even Earthwind Moreland look serviceable for at least short stretches. He has made Troy Brown and Julian Edelman decent CBs. Even with Belichick’s decline as a head coach in his last few years, he was still a master at putting players on defense to exceed their talent. Dugger could have been a product of Belichick.

Sure the defensive schemes and coaching aren’t helping him any, but he has looked really bad. I hope it is just the injury.

Yeah Tavai is a good player but coverage isn't his strength he's best around the LOS and in the backfield. We need to draft at least 2 fast, LBs who can cover.. I'm tired of covering my eyes with this defense
No. We need to stop running schemes where a linebacker would be covering a WR1 30 yards downfield.
The player you're describing is a nickel corner, because that's not what a linebacker is EVER supposed to do.

I see constant constant constant blown coverages. It's over and over and over.

I see players not adjusting to overloads. 2 weeks ago Dugger was a deep safety when 2 guys came open and he trid to cover both, leaving Jon Jones exposed when he was in press coverage. TD! I've seen all the safeties up at the line and no one back, TD!

Dugger went from having a Pro Bowl season 2 years ago to this. But then I see heady players like Jon Jones also out of position, and the new FA Hawkins is constantly out of position.

I seriously doubt this is happening all at once to 4 different players.

True. I just wonder how much cap space would he tie up? As we have so many other glaring needs. KC will also be in the market for a LT.. I'm sure bolles would prefer to go there? Robinson I feel will get better and better he has great upside and he was doing well in camp/pre-season. Also the writing is on the wall for j. Jones. A great player ultimate patriots player. We need a veteran CB like chavaious ward In SF.
How much cap room should we tie up in OT's?

As much as it takes. The top 3 needs are WR, LT and RT.

Duggar is a safety/lb hybrid. When you put him in man coverage on a WR that’s coaching. It’s like saying if we asked Douglass to block a DT it’s not coaching when he fails.

In the pre-game thread I said I hope they don't lose it themselves.

"Make them dig your grave if it's going to be a loss. Don't dig it yourself."

Welp. I thought setting the bar that low was reasonable. **** me, right?
Nope because that is how polite we are

This is wrong. We rushed 7 and had man coverage on 4 receivers. Duggar was man to man on a different player, kupp beat jones. The play had nothing to do with Duggar.

I dont know what to say. This game was over with the way the offense was called after Gonzales’s pick. AVP in an effort to eat clock took the ball out of his best weapons hands and called some basic run plays. Lifeless. Gutless. Heartless. A sign of things to come. Defense gets on the field and Covington and Co. with the help of a shell of his former self Kyle Duggar piss the game away. Who do you blame? What do you say? All I can think of is that hot damn this is just a bad football team. Coaching staff isnt going anywhere and neither is the front office, so where do you start in fixing this mess? I guess Maye was a start, but where do ya go from here? With all that being said, Maye looked good and we still keep our draft slot. Gotta dig for the positives fellas. Dig deep.
While I agree completely with you about our offense not being aggressive enough. The same was said about Atlanta and how they should have not thrown but just run and kill clock. Mayo seems to think we are a running team and teams will fall back on their coaches identity during crunch time, so you get Mayo(conservative ****y or whatever term you want to use).
