I’m tired of the media members (Tom Curran, Phil Perry, The Kraft-employed Patriots Unfiltered crew, among others) and ungrateful, clueless Pats fans who rejoiced when Belichick was fired by Bobby and John-Boy carrying Mayo’s water and blaming their record mostly on their roster).

They have lost so many close/winnable games due to poor coaching (play-calling and in-game decisions). What looked like a very difficult schedule prior to the start of the season has turned out to be one of the easiest this far, based upon the combined record of their opponents.

If the Pats had the Chiefs, Broncos, Steelers, Rams, Viking or Lions coaching staffs (just to name a few of the best), this is a 6-7 team right now, with the potential to be 7-6.

(I didn’t want to risk triggering the Belichick-haters by bringing up Bill’s elite game plans and in-game decisions compared to Jerod The Clueless)

This was a game they should have won. A game that poor coaching lost. Again
You can call it bad coaching. Certainly a 1 point game could have gone either way given one better decision or one bounce of the football our way.

All of this is within expectations when the season started however. I expected no more than 6 wins from this squad.

Talent is still the biggest issue.

Coaching might need to improve too but we also need to realize that Mayo is a rookie head coach. He's going to make errors as well. The real question is does he learn from them going forward?

If Bill had this type of quarter back play we'd be in the playoffs. Hell, we went to the playoffs with freaking Mac Jones

Defense, again was terrible. Covington should be fired today.

The rest is a talent issue.
I don’t know if it’s DC not knowing how to call a game, misuse of talent or a combo of both but yeah, he should not be a coordinator at this point in his coaching career.

You thought Bill had elite game plans and in game decision making last year? Okay

Let's see.

The head coach has no cajones and no fight in him.

At least four players on the offensive line aren't skilled enough and resort to holding or false starts consistently.

Another second round receiver is a mental midget.

Your veteran receiver runs poor routes.

The big contract safety is an obvious target in passing situations.

That about sums up the state of the team.

Polk might be the worst WR I have ever seen.
Ladd McConkey 117yds Today: but who's keeping count.

As much as I love Gonzo I imagine what Maye could of done with Flowers.

The 2021 team was the worst team in nfl history to make the playoffs.

Look at who the patriots beat that year with their 10 wins:

3-14 Jacksonville Jaguars
4-13 New York Jets 2x
4-13 Houston Texans
5-12 Carolina Panthers
7-10 Atlanta Falcons
8-9 Cleveland Browns

7 of their 10 wins came against the garbage of the NFL.

Mac had better weapons than Maye did. Mac had Jacobi Meyers, Nelson Agholor and a younger Bourne at WR and Hunter Henry + Jonnu at TE. Damian Harris (15 touchdowns) was better than Rham.

On defense, they had a prime all pro pass rushing beast, Matt Judon. They also had JC Jackson (8 Interceptions, league leading 23 PD) . Also McCourty, Hightower..Couple old vets still on the team. Better talent.

Would Belichick go to the playoffs with this current team? No way. And his appalling GM skills is a big reason we’re in this mess

Two different penalties should’ve been called on the 2pt attempt that one the game. Clear hold and a clear low high block. Officiating had been dreadful across the league this season.

I don’t think so. I’m thinking if Bill had Maye instead of wimpy… things may have turned out differently…
