And you know that after half a season? I am betting if I put the effort in you said that about Douglas and boutte too
Nope - never said that about Douglas and Boutte. I am sure you will find posts of me not being happy about Polk when he got drafted.

He never had separation in college and relied on contesting catches. That does not translate well in the pros. I did not expect him to be the disaster he has been so far though.

Yikes. I thought they'd lose. I had no idea how sick the Bears' team culture is and what a weakling Williams is. Contrast Williams with Drake: plenty of mistakes but just keep working at it. The rookie mistakes are not much of a concern to me: Drake has shown a capacity to learn which is pretty remarkable.

Could it be the Patriots way is starting to take hold? Good defense, run the rock and take your shots....

For all the yelling about Mayo and the coaches, that looked like a decently coached professional football team. End of half play was fantastic. We could run the ball again, and that made a lot of difference to how much pressure Maye was under.

The Bears are on the decline, but Mayo will take anything at this point.

Maye finally wins a game from start to finish beating the #1 overall pick who has a better supporting cast. Not a good look for Williams.

White finally ends his streak of shooting blanks.

The silver pants look way better with the away uniforms. No contest.

Finish with an 8 game win streak
Make the playoffs at 10-7
End the Chiefs unbeaten streak
Win the Super Bowl

Seems straightforward.
Lol. Delusions do tend to be simpler than realities.

This season for me right now is about celebrating that we seem to have the guy. That can take decades, so don't sell it short. You can see it in Maye but not really anywhere else... we have a shot at being back. Not today, not tomorrow, but soon (and let's hope, to complete the quote, for the rest of our lives.)
The Bears are on their THIRD in less than a decade. Context matters right? It does appear that Maye is full of potential that matches brain with athletic ability which is the rarity. Not going to declare the definitive of future success, but I'd rather the hope than the despair in regards to the most important position in any NFL rebuild - the QB.

Let’s see what happens against a great coach in Mcvay.

Next 3 are winnable let's sneak back into playoff picture

LT Stanley - free agent
LG Trey Smith - free agent
C David Andrews
RG Mike Onwenu
RT - Wallace

QB Maye
WR McMillan - draft
WR Higgins - free agent
WR Douglas
TE Henry
RB Stevenson

There’s no reason the pats can’t be a playoff team next year. It’s on Kraft now to spend & Wolf to not mess it up.

Good win for the team that needed one. D propped up the offense when needed, the O gave the defense a blow here and there. Maye should have had another TD to Henry, give him an overall C+ for today's performance.
On the replay it was clear that would've been an INT if he lead Henry

Good win! Hopefully all the clown posts about Mayo can take a break for a week.

Maye needs to work on his accuracy under pressure and to throw the ball away instead of making stupid decisions.
??

I thought he was super accurate.

The INT was not a matter of accuracy at all. He somehow didn't see that guy.

Maye: 5 starts, one win, split a win with Jacoby, forced OT in a third. Generally looks pretty good sans one or 2 boneheaded plays a game.

Tough to win in the NFL and good to see the Patriots put together a 60 minute effort. Discuss.
Good confidence boost for the defense. Always good to get a win no matter what in the NFL. Good all around efforts by the team I thought the Bears defense was better than what I saw today. If Drake had Williams weapons he'd gone over 400.

Maybe this has a little to do with team playing better

Patriots QB Drake Maye takes large step to becoming the team's leader

"First time (Maye) got in front of the offense. Alex said, 'Great response, everyone really reacted well to him... We need that leadership from him.'"

It's been just a few games since Maye took over for Jacoby Brissett as the team's starter, but he's already shown some impressive traits on the field, and knowing that he's growing off of it is a great sign.

Maye is the real deal. Bonus, he didn't have to try to win it himself with his legs. Running QBs break, and that's the preventable provisional pity of Maye. Good to see we didn't embrace the dark side too much.

This season for me right now is about celebrating that we seem to have the guy. That can take decades, so don't sell it short. As for the O-line with more musical chairs than "Politics, the art of the Possible" in Evita, I understand the people of NE are about to get a little Strange, so that's good-ish. Would sort of be nice to have the Andrews Sisters available too, but you can't have everything. Where would you put it?

Very, VERY solid D performance.
Maye has it. Mayo will have to let him lead the men as Billy let Tom lead. Kids gotta learn to slide, but his will to win “ is strong with this one !!”
