If they did the right thing then where was the two possessions needed to fix the mistake made on the 2 pointer?
What?
They did the right thing by determining they still need 2 scores. To capitalize on that decision they would have had to play good football. The fact they didn’t doesn’t change the decision was right.
Ultimately they lose either way. They just gave themselves a better chance.

Hahahaha
So when you get ***** slapped that’s proof that everything you did that day was wrong?
I guess they should have played Brissett because we tried playing Maye and we lost. It didn’t work. You can’t tell me brissett wouldn’t have thrown for 500 yards

You're the one who's arguing that they had plenty of time and it's not your fault the Patriots couldn't get their heads out of their ass to secure that extra possession needed to prove there was enough time.

It's not like there was a whole game already behind them proving they don't have what it takes to stop the jags twice.

What? They did the wrong thing by making it a two possession game unnecessarily for no reason other than to make it harder on themselves because of the some ******** phantom scenario that you're making up that had they gone for it later they wouldn't have gotten it.

You literally do not know that and without acknowledging that you don't know that you will continue to have this debate with me because it's really that simple.

They had to stop them twice.

To only stop them once they needed a 2 and when they tried they failed.

One more time.

We are talking about STRATEGY.
Given the situation, knowing you must score 2 TDs and either make a 2 or score again.
Is it better to know whether you have to score 3 times as early as possible or as late as possible?

I feel I have a better chance to game plan, manage the clock, call plays, decide how aggressive I have to be, make 4th down decisions, use my timeouts if I know that answer early.

There are 2 scenarios. I make it or I don’t.
If I make it I confirm I can tie the game with a td and a 95% PAT
If I miss I learn I need that extra score. Knowing that at 9 minutes gives me more opportunity to adjust my game plan and all my decisions than finding out in the final seconds.

The decision doesn’t determine the outcome of the game it just gives you a better chance to manage the game

Your way made it harder. Known they needed two scores didn't make it easier for them.

That's just a fact. The debate that knowing vs not knowing ultimate made no difference and that's why my brain is better making this decision than the computer.

And your argument only works with the conversion that they failed on miraculously being successful which you are making up in contradiction to what actually happened when they did it.

They had a 2 point opportunity and missed it, making it a 2 score game. Fact.

Here's what we know since you want to talk about what actually happened.

The Patriots went for it and missed AND didn't get the two possessions needed to resolve this era.

It didn't work.

You'll never know what would of happened no matter how much you bang the drum that you do had they just kicked the PAT.

My way made it harder because they missed it. But my way only made it harder because we got the knowledge that they missed it. Stalling that knowledge doesn’t make it easier,it just dupes you into thinking so.

It WAS harder going for it early just made it clear.

All we know is they way we did it made it harder. Not easier. Fact.

Here’s what happened they played Maye and lost.
It didn’t work.
You have no way of knowing what would have happened if they played Brissett.

See how stupid that is.

And do you also see how stupid a sample size of “one team list a game they had about a 10% chance of winning at that times” is to determining correct strategy?

Which they did to them self. Fact.

Why are you hell bent on making it harder?
Jesus. I’m done. You aren’t capable of getting it.

I see how stupid your analogies have been that's for sure.

Do you understand that the Patriots made it harder on them self? That's not debatable. They needed to go for two scores because they made it so they had to.

It was self fulfilling.

Jesus. I’m done. You aren’t capable of getting it.

I ****ing get it bro. I don't agree with it.

Is that hard for you to comprehend? Your point isn't lost on me. Not even the tiniest bit. I laid it out to you very clearly and you didn't bother to acknowledge the post.

BTW, the OL is playing much better than I would have expected with what they have, especially with Maye at QB.
The Pats RB had a total of 20 yards rushing at less than 2 yards per carry. Much better than you expected? Your expectation for the OL is 10 yards rushing per game?
We should be OK with Douglas, Bourne, Boutte as the primary receivers, along with Henry.
We should be OK for what? OK to score 16 points a game and OK to finish 1 - 16?

The OL played well enough to win. The WR's did not.
20 yards rushing by the RB at less than 2 yards a carry will never win any game. The OL played well enough to win? You expect to win games in the NFL with 20 yards of rushing offense? Terrible take.

No they didn’t.

I think what’s more disheartening than anything is Mayes career is on a similar trajectory to Mac’s in regards to changing of OC’s. Justified or not AVP will be the scapegoat after the season and be fired leaving Maye with a new play caller and scheme to learn.

I give AVP credit in terms of Mayes development so far.
Fine. Then make him QB coach and get an OC who has some idea how to run an overall offense, make a game plan. make at least SOME goddam in-game adjustments, and adapt his scheme to the skills and limitations of his actual, particular players, qb included..
