PostGame Thread 2024 OFFICIAL POSTGAME: Pats lose to the Jags 32-16, fall to 1-6

Maye did really good for a rookie in his 2nd game. However, The Crybaby also looked pretty good early on.

He did, but with much better coaching, better supporting cast, and clearly inferior ceiling to Maye.

This is getting more frustrating every week. Mayo is NOT the guy to lead this team !! The only bright spots are Maye, HH, Slye and maybe Marcus Jones. Even Rham has regressed. Our O Line and DL are a mess. Where and how does one start to re-build this team ?
I hope that all the people that wanted Bill gone are happy with the results. It is a case of 'be careful what you wish for'
Robert Kraft is a terrible owner, from being one of the best he has become one of the worse. He only cares about his ego, his ego could not stand to see Bill get credit for the last 20 years so he fires him and hires someone who is completely out of his league and incompetent. We have hit rock bottom , I have invested 30 years in this team, I can't give up now. I just pray that someone comes along that can save the Patriots. It is NOT RK or Mayo or even Jonathan.

If they don't win another game, I think it's more likely Bob pulls the trigger. Saying he wanted to win which was why he fired Bill, yet does worse is a really bad look on Bob.

Maye could be intriguing for a guy like Ben Johnson.

Since I have no expectations for this season, I am hoping the losses become more lopsided so that it becomes fait acompli.

The Jags dropped two sure INTs and rightly just knocked down the Hail Mary instead of picking* that one off.

What an awful display of football by the Pats. They won’t be good again until Kraft is gone. His ridiculous comment about regretting giving BB too much power. Well this is the team Kraft put together and they just got blown out by a 1-5 team.

Almost don't count and the defense gets paid as well. Only 1 possible INT was on him, which is the one that Osborne broke up. The other ones weren't on him.

Never heard of a coach calling his team soft . Maybe parcells did it ? Dont know how this helps. These are signs when the coaching staff doesnt have answers and blames it on players toughness.

My point is that we were pretty happy with the choice and expected him to be the answer at QB based on those two games.

Just...want to temper the joy a bit. Not kill the joy though.

No chance in hell Kraft will fire Mayo during or after this season, regardless if we don't win another game this season.

That would be admitting he made a major mistake with Mayo.

Mayo will be HC this year and next, at least.

We are one week closer to Mayo's dismissal. We'll look back in a few years and talk about how we couldn't believe Mayo got a HC gig.

Failure of coaching as well. It is becoming clear Mayo is in over his head.

Reminds me of when I first starting working as a professional after school. In over my head. Questionable decision making. I worked hard though and things started falling in place. I hope its the same for Mayo and Co.

The soft comment doesn't bother me as that's common.

Agreed. Get Vrabel -- who already SHOULD be the Pats coach -- before someone else does.

Maye's play style buys himself time to throw, and yet there only ever seems to be Hunter Henry open downfield on broken/deep plays.

Controversial take but I can see them looking at Tet McMillon WR1 and we can finally stop having this conversation every single year about receivers.

Especially as Banks was overwhelmed last night vs Georgia. Pickup a couple O line in R2 & 3.

Bentley and Barmore will sort the rungame out next season.

The bigger problem with Polk is not his hands, but his inability to separate. There's a reason he keeps getting clobbered.

The QB play is astronomically better than it was with Brissett and we are still getting smoked. This team is atrocious

That’s why going for a franchise QB was a mistake when three first-rounders were ours. Too many holes on the roster.

It’s like the Jets when they had Darnold and Wilson as QBs.

Mayo is showing he has a lot of flaws and learning to do if he's going to be the coach going forward.

That said, people are just *****ing about the 2 pt try because it failed. If it worked nobody says anything. And you NEEDED to attempt it if you scored twice eventually. Might as well do it early and figure out right then and there if your next drive needs to be a fast one because you need to go for a field goal later instead of having a slow drive that eats up clock and realizing you needed time to get the ball back.

I didn’t love trying for it there because it is demoralizing if you miss. Better to keep it one score game till the end. That being said I am not going to kill him for that.

Polk had a pitch and catch conversion and fell down.
