Offense is a work in progress. OL still shuffeling, but has moments. They improved pass protect at the expense of run blocking - which is horrendous. But it's not AVP's fault. There's hope on offense.

But the MAJOR problem on this team is the Front 7. Everyone assumed the D would just return to last year's level.
Mayo & DC have destroyed this D with the worst fundamentals and discipline on D than any team in the league.
It only took 4 games for this D to regress so badly, after the Jets destroyed us, they haven't corrected anything.

Mayo should demote DC and hire Vrabel as DC immediately.

WTF? In what world is Vrabel gonna take our DC job?

They are contracted to do that when they are asked to iirc. I think it's one of the worst parts of the game they have now. Leave the coaches alone.

They need a 2 point conversion to tie.

They failed the 2 point conversion.

If they kick on the first score they think they are in a 1 score game but they aren’t because they aren’t getting the 2.

By going for 2 the first time you know whether it’s really a 2 score game or a 3 score and you can play accordingly.

Your way is best case lose by 2 because they treat it as a 1 score game and miss the 2 point conversion

So you're saying it was "the right call" because "they aren't getting the 2"

This might be the most illogical conversation I've had on here..

My best case scenario is they tie the game after a TD+XP and then a STOP, TD + 2 pt conversion - you keep saying my best case is lose by 2, it's not. Stop it.

I don't get all the AVP hate. He at least deserves some time to develop with Maye - and they can be competitive and move the ball.

But, when he only gets a very limited amount of drives, and always from behind because of the ineptitude of the D, that is clearly the primary problem. The defense is league worst. And when that's the case, you look at the DC first.
Mayo is over his head and not the right hire, but Covington was so ill-prepared to be DC and it's obvious.

Another 1-5 team ran the ball on 17 straight plays, this team is soft.

Patriots have given up 837 rushing yards in the last 5 games, 167 yards a game.

And we supposedly have a defensive minded HC and the D at least was supposed to be great this year…..Mayo has been abysmal….and what a sloppy, soft, disengaged, undisciplined and weak group the D is ….

You want to delay that knowledge until it’s too late.

2. Being so weak at run stopping that the Jaguars ran it 18 times in a row. Need better DT effort and leadership.

His play calling is just dumb. Totally predictable. He calls the same running play to start every drive. Then it gets stopped and they’re behind the sticks so he makes a predictable pass call. We could chart one drive and call every other drive without him.

I still think Polk has potential. He has a number of plays and opportunities where he is open.

But the kid lacks accountability, says stupid things, drops balls etc. He really needs to be benched for a few games to send a message. Normally I’d say let him push through it but his commentary means he has to be sat.
