I hate highlights that are 50% bombs down field, next to useless. But this dose show some progressions/reading the field which is nice, as well as off platform throws. I've stopped watching film until after the combine, but Maye is still my best case pick at #3

If Daniels is there at #3 I hope we can trade down for more assets.

At least to #4.

As much as I like MJH or Alt, I would not want to draft them at #3.

That wouldn’t be maximizing the pick.
agree but i would not trade down further than 6

because at 6 you still have a shot at one of the top offense players

one of alt mhj fashanu daniels maye williams (nabers/bowers) is still there at 6 definetely

Lance Zierlein is out with his first mock. He has the Patriots taking MHJ at #3, with Williams and Daniels going 1-2. He then has them trading up to #30 to take Bo Nix.

So first picking Nix is saying he is going to sit for a year to work on his mechanics, and teach him to read progressions, one of the QBs on the roster or a FA would be starting. 2nd, I would have to see the trade, but it will be 34 to start which means we would be handing LT to a 3rd rounder at best...

We need Daniels to light up the combine and get the Giants or someone close to fall in love with him or MHJ and trade down. This is gonna be a rebuild. Not gonna fix this O in one year. Pick up some premium draft capital and do this right.

OK, Captain Obvious here, but we want as many players as possible to light it up at the combine.

That increases pressure on teams to want to trade up and with more valuable compensation in the mix, and still leave a great player for the Pats’ pick.

my hope is daniels lights it up. maybe then maye is still there

Might as well keep Zappe.

Chad Graff over at 'The Atheltic' went to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL.

He said that Nix and Penix 'struggled' down there and that the Pats were now 100% likely to take QB at #3. I asked him for specifics in the comments section. Will paste in here if I ever hear back.

Take that for what it is worth.

Howe had some more on this today. He said that for guys to struggle at the Senior Bowl was normal and that Nix looked a lot better towards the end of the week.

Howe also said that if Wolf is appointed our GM, he is most likely to consider a tackle with #3. Hmmm....

==============

Graff had a new mock 1.0 today...he has us taking Daniels, an OT form U of Houston in the 2nd, the Michigan Receiver in the 3rd, an TE from Ohio State who used to be a defensive lineman/edge in the 4th, the UNH 3rd down back in the 5th, and some CB/edge rusher in the 6th/7th. Hmmm....

The problem with Zappe (and Mac) is they both think they can be starters in the league, that makes them terrible bridge QBs.
Every QB thinks that and wants to start. Until they get to be about 30+

You think Fitzpatrick didn't believe that?

Or even Hoyer?

The news leaking about taking an LT is clearly just there to make people think the Patriots aren't going to take the last of the 3 QBs off the board. The Patriots don't want teams jumping them in the process.

Not sure that adds up. We pick at #3. How could anyone jump us for the last of the 3 QBs?

In several different ways. If we prefer one QB over another and are worried a team will jump us to take him.

But what if the Bears stick with Fields and take Harrison? Again, a team can jump the Patriots. So if you signal the Patriots are taking an LT or trading down, teams will be less inclined to move up

NYG at 6, maybe get both of the 2nds this year.
I would not draft an OT at #3 (even if said OT becomes a 1st ballot NFL HOF player. The 2 top ranked ones can be taken with the #5 through #7 Picks possibly.

From what I've been seeing regarding draft prospects, Mims (if healthy and can remain so) could be an absolute beat at RT.
maye at 3 and then trading up with the second and third rd pick to select Mims would be a dream scenario
