I remember Steve Grogan went up the middle one game against the Rats for a TD.

How long before he became strictly a pocket passer?
A very long time.

Probably in the 80s

Dude you sold me pay attention Draftknixs this Guy is the real deal nobody really talks about him tells you how potentially Great this class is. Baker's catch radius is ridiculous throw it anywhere near him and it's a catch you can see that on Tape. I am going on record saying I don't want Harrison Jr now WR is just too Deep for that. Right now I would take the Best QB @ 3 and Trade #34 keep for and extra pick. Javon Baker and Ladd McConkey @ WR please problem solved both will be impact players from the start book it.

I’m sold on Corley right now l.

Sure, for six games until he gets killed.

He’s been playing that way in the SEC against the baddest teams in college football and it hasn’t been an issue. You can worry about it all you want, I’m not going to. I love the idea of having a QB who can pick up the first down on their own, it opens up everything. He’s had 78 touchdowns ( passing and running) over the past two seasons with just 8 turnovers. He had to bring his team back repeatedly because their defense sucked, and he can make every throw.

Have we seen plays where Mac runs a defender over?
That’s what JJ has done.
JJ isn't running over any defenders in the big league. He's 200 pounds.

Imo he's the type of QB that might have to sit and learn for 2 years before he could be considered as a starter. He's coming from a long way back.

He is a unknown because Michigan was run heavy
Saying he is Mac with limited physical traits is false

He is 2 inches taller, really strong arm and he has wheels
I am not saying he will be better than Mac.
But he is not the same player as Mac other than he had a great team around him
I have been reading and watching clips on him lately

He has warts like the other 3 QB’s at top of draft
We all have no clue about the the ins and outs to any of these guys
If the Pats have him rated in the top group of QB’s then I would rather drop down to 10 range and get a bunch of picks including future 1st’s.

This team needs a lot. A player in the Top 10 gets them their QB. Plus some 2nds and next year 1st’s
If they like him and think he will be there in the 2nd round
Then take your OT with a small trade down and a few extra picks
Or take MHJ

That all depends on how McCarthy grades out
If they have the top 3 way ahead of him. Then this is a mute point
McCarthy, just based on arm strength and general athletic ability, is far superior to Mac. He does have the tools to work with that Mac doesn't have.

If he can get himself up to 215 or 220 at his height, and after sitting for a couple of years, I think that he has legit potential, but NOT at #3.

Could be a steal. But he's listed at 6'1 compared to Higgins who's between 6'3 and 6'4. 6'1 isn't bad though, as Justin Jefferson and Malik Nabers are about that height.

Really like Jah Sanders as a consolation I think he's going somewhere is the Second at least. Some nice dept guys at TE ie... Stover - Ben Sinnott and Jared Wiley.
I just hope it's not like last season where we passed on 2, or was it 3 TE's who contributed nicely just as receivers in their rookie season. The blocking (especially if they're willing, can be taught). I would love Stover and/or Sinnott!

There are 10 tackles who could go in the 1st round.

Meaning, anyone of them could be selected in the 1st round, and no one would blink an eye.

Taking a tackle with the #3 is maybe the dumbest move a GM could make here.

I'm not even counting Kiran Amegdiaje and Blake Fisher among the 10.
At #3, you take a QB (hopefully Maye is there), or you trade back and acquire more picks, while still snagging a top OT and then whatever else you can.

I think if you take McCarthy
You would have to sit him for a year to learn
Not a problem with our rebuild
You would need a decent bridge QB that could be a good mentor

It's unfortunate that a guy like this won't be around for us at 34. I doubt Troy Franklin will be there either. Keon Coleman on the other hand might be a Tee Higgins type you can find in the 2nd round.
Keon Coleman has the size/speed you want. How good a route runner he is and his hands is what will be incredibly important.

Could solve a huge need as well as affect the draft.

Even if his injury is fully healed and even if he plays well, we still need a LT and RT (LT for the now, and RT for a Swing Tackle/RT for the future). Sounds like an intriguing possibility though. But, I'm not giving up any picks in the first 4 rounds to get him.
