Funny that people are already calling Corley the 2nd coming of Deebo and here he is in that graph right next to him.

I know there are lots of factors that go into it besides just the WR, but it's interesting, nonetheless.

Great work by FI putting that work together.

Disagree, but the discussion really gets old.

We had Henry, Gesicki & Pharoah back there. We would have to trade down to take a TE when Gonzalez was staring us in the face. If it's me, I take Gonzalez 100% of the time.
I agree about the having to trade up. And we definitely should have taken Gonzalez. But, we took Keion White instead of Tucker Kraft, and could have traded up to get LaPorta or Musgrave (who were drafted in the 2nd Round). So, we would have still gotten Gonzo and been able to get one of the young TE's in the 2nd Round.

What do you think of Adonai Mitchell?

I need to see more on Polk because in the games I saw he seemed slow and not that strong. I've seen him break open with the ball and get tracked down from behind by people well behind him.
Yea i didn't mention everyone but 2nd early 3rd for Mitchell.

I remember an article discussing how the Patriots were frozen out from trading up. They had so many picks but no one saw the value. They struggled to find trading partners. But here's the irony: they wanted to trade up FOR Keion White.

They were unable to do a trade up.

Plus, look at the Patriots DL. Wise, Guy, Barmore and Godchaux on the inside. You needed a talent there, and from watching Keion, he not only fills a big need, he has the potential to be a star. I'd say DE was as big a need as TE if you accept that Henry is a better starter than Wise/Guy.

I did like the potential of Keion White. My only knock on him is that he was 24 when they drafted him (like Dugger who was also about 24). Which meant that if they were worthy of a 2nd contact, they would be 28 in the 1st year of that 2nd contract. Perhaps the other teams valued the TE's taken in the 2nd round more than a position like that of White. That would also explain the lack of trade partners.

With the way NIL is going, get ready for a lot of 24 year olds. They're already a year back before they ever enter college (19), so the earliest they get out is 23. With NIL, 24 is going to be the norm.

I have noticed a lot of 5th year Seniors and because of transfers and such, the age of rookies is getting a year or two older than years past. I do like it when we get a great player who's only 20 when drafted, or only 21 when the regular season hits. You especially want that in a QB.

To be clear, we have a player for 4 years as a rookie before he can go elsewhere. You prefer a player who comes out young and inexperienced at 20 to those who might have played their 5th year and are 25, mature and experienced.

I prefer the more mature and experienced players.

In this day and age, age does not equal maturity. Some players, even with less experience and younger in age still make immediate impacts or at least show that they "Have It". I'd prefer to have someone young and show that they can play (even if not right away, but have shown they are indeed players). Young age and inexperience does not equal less than. And if you're holding my proverbial feet to the fire; then yes, I prefer a young and less experienced player that has the talent and drive to be the best that they can be, as age and experience doesn't always mean success. In the end, each player must be evaluated on their own strengths and weaknesses regardless of age and experience. There are arguments that can be made for both types. And both have merit.

Watch Jayden Daniels highlights and you’ll see the exact same thing.
And Jones needed and Daniels needs solid coaching and hand holding early in their careers to develop into a solid NFL quarterback.

You need a mix for obvious reasons. Guys that are 23/24 + years old are pretty much what they are. There's a lot less room for development. The flip side is they should be more ready to play but that's not always the case. I think Bill over did it with some older prospects but we also had a team that was in "win now" mode for 20 years so "plug and play" prospects made sense.

*fwiw* Normally there would be about 130-140 underclassmen declared. There was like 55 last time I checked and obviously hasn't moved a lot since. NIL.

that's not absurd at all. I know he's tall, but that won't fool anyone in the NFL, he goes to the ground...
Compare that with T. Hill - it's like slow mo.
I'm not saying I don't like MHJ, but I do think he's being overrated compared to some of the other WR's in this class.

Thanks. Great to see your posts. I read somewhere, do not remember where, that this is a 4 round draft. After the 4th round there will be a significant dropoff because so few underclassmen have declared.
