2024 New England Patriots Schedule Reactions

The question is QB. Of Jacoby starts, we aren’t making the playoffs. He was on better teams that didn’t make the playoffs due to him being very limited. However, if Maye exceeds development expectations and is a stud, and some of the new weapons also develop fast and contribute, then they might make it.

But frankly I’d rather they take as long as they need to develop Maye.
Would having Maye with the young offensive players, accelerate their development?
As a contrary would Jacoby lessen the development?

Last season I hated the night games.. when you have to be up at 5 am the next day for work sucks. Especially when they loss.
I always preferred the night games to be at home, I would take game day and day after off. Away night games I wouldn’t take work off, of course I could never fall asleep after the game.

Oh I get it. It's a new everything so I understand fans concerned. Here is why I'm optimistic. Hear me out.

Last season 90% of the issue was the QB performance. We managed 4 wins with a horrible offense. Drake mark my post WILL be the starter week 1. By week 5 the league will know full well who Drake maye is. This defense is not some chumps. They will bring it each week and keep the team in it. Losses will not be lopsided like last seasons debacle Saints and Cowboys games.

We will be a contender next season. Everyone has us written off, we have some pieces on offense, and I still believe there will be a trade for a WR still a strong possibility during camp/preseason.
We were not a QB away last year. The O-line was a mess which led to the QB being a mess. The O-line has a bunch of guard prospects and no true LT. Jacoby or Maye better be able to run.

Add to that a new coaching staff...I don't see a lot of success this year. And that's fine. It's Year 1 of the new rebuild.

Cincinnati has been slow starters the last couple years so if there is ever a good time to face them its early on (aside from whenever burrow gets hurt of course). Only problem is we have been slower starters

And Burrow is coming off an injury, so getting him early when there might be some rust is good. Interested to see how much of our previous slow starts were part of Belichick's philosophy (focus on process, knowing you're gearing up for January because with Brady that's what matters, etc), but yeah, it's a tall order asking them to go on the road against the Bengals and win, especially with as many rookies as they might have playing key roles.

Very likely Brady will be calling the Pats vs 49ers game in Week 4 (9/29). That will be a surreal experience for us fans Im sure. Possibility he calls the Week 2 game against the Seahawks as well.

I see your point. I'm not saying your wrong. But you have to understand the circumstances that surrounded last season. Bill was a lame duck coach, the relationship was frail with Mac and bill.. the QB position was the issue. You get a better, talented QB that can uplift and offense then your O line does not suffer as much.. Mahomes doesn't have a great O line but he elevates. Same with allen..

This isn't a rebuild.. We've been rebuilding since Brady left. When are we gonna be actually built? This is a changing of the guard.. the next generation of patriots with the last generation behind us with Bill gone. I have optimism becuase last season we were rock bottom. Can't get lower than that. Just my opinions. I've accepted it.

2-5 wins max, we'll be seeing $20 home tickets once again for the last few home games. if buffalo has clinched and can't improve playoff position Krafty won't even sell tickets to Bills Mafia. Ol Happy Ending will be looking at half capacity stadium for week 17/18. Way to Bob....if buffalo has something to play for Gillette could be a Bills home game reminiscent of that 1990 New York Football Giants home game at the House that Billy Sullivan built.

Has any team ever had an international game without a bye the following week? Both NE & Jax are getting screwed this year...

Can't think of any off hand...
several teams last few years (Ravens, Bills, Jax, Vikings, Packers) I believe they give teams the option of a bye week after London

The schedule is what it is, but what is good only one late night game on Sept. 19th against the Jets.
We can have this great schedule if we continue to be in the bottom 3 teams in the NFL.

yeah, looked at the schedule over the past few years and they no longer do it... it used to be an automatic bye... but no longer... had never noticed that the London teams weren't getting the bye anymore until this year... and did so only because we are going to Old England...

There are two post-Brady rebuilds. The BB one and now the new Mayo one.

No matter what the schedule was or is, I prefer that no game start past 4:15 on a Sunday..
The comment is not about their record, but when I prefer to watch.

Feel bad for Brissett.
Go to the team website and order a jersey with any player's name, including all 2024 draft picks....

Except Jacoby Brissett

I don’t think it really matters. Amazing WR’s have developed with mediocre QB’s. I think QB is more susceptible to a bad development with a poor cast

Bill wouldn’t have been a lame duck coach if he was winning. Mac was a problem, but he was a convenient excuse to ignore other problems. WR and TE were an issue before Mac was ever on the team. The line has been shakey and lacking depth since 2019.

This is what happens when you botch a rebuild. It gets extended. It can absolutely get lower. The Browns went 1-15 and then went 0-16. Not saying that won’t happen, but I could very easily seeing us being within 2 or 3 games either way of last seasons record.

It’s a new era also means growing pains. Even Bill had it his first year.

And how was their Defense?
Ours might be better which would be helpful in winning games
