The schedule is what it is, but what is good only one late night game on Sept. 19th against the Jets.

It’s gonna be another tough year I see them winning 3-5 games.

I’ll be in Chicago with family that are Bears fans, should be fun.

Another brutal start
I agree. But you know what. I'd rather it this way.. on the road immediately week 1s are always 50/50..

My prediction is Drake is starting week 1. Gonzo on Higgins, and J. Jones on chase with safety help. The defense is tested right out the gate.

The good: no night games at home the first six and probably not the last two. LOVE the 1 p.m. start time.

The bad: 13-straight games until the bye?! I've never seen a Patriots bye that late in the season. Also not thrilled about three December/January home games.
We had a late by last few seasons.. we have some "time off" after the the Thursday night games.. that's always like a mini- bye week. Personally, I like the tough start. Defense is tested right out the gate. Drake will be able find holes in the suspect Bengals secondary.

We won 4 games with a horrible offense. This offense will be leaps and bounds improved. 9 wins is my prediction. All thier losses will be close . No team is blowing this defense out the water.

Label me concerned,

I don’t see a definite we will win this game on the calendar,
I think even if we go 2 and 15 they will give this staff another year with draft and free agency to make it right.

Only way we win more than 2 games is if the O line is consistent and we are a top 15 offense.

Oh I get it. It's a new everything so I understand fans concerned. Here is why I'm optimistic. Hear me out.

Last season 90% of the issue was the QB performance. We managed 4 wins with a horrible offense. Drake mark my post WILL be the starter week 1. By week 5 the league will know full well who Drake maye is. This defense is not some chumps. They will bring it each week and keep the team in it. Losses will not be lopsided like last seasons debacle Saints and Cowboys games.

We will be a contender next season. Everyone has us written off, we have some pieces on offense, and I still believe there will be a trade for a WR still a strong possibility during camp/preseason.

A top 15 (average) offense paired with a top 10 defense should be a playoff team. Doesn’t sound so improbable when you put it that way.

Agreed. Fans have stuck in thier minds of last season. That is done and over with. This is a totally different team. This defense is ready-made they will bring the heat every week. No one is dropping 40 on us. All we need is league average offensively to compete.

Last place schedule? Not! What the ****? NYFL is making sure the Patriots stay irrelevant for the immediate future.

Eagles who are one of the SB favorites have one of the easiest schedules yet again.

How much more $ is Lurie spending to grease the schedule makers wheels than Krafty Bob?

3-14 here we come
Are you people serious or are you just joking around? Are there still people who don’t know that the schedule is a fixed formula based on:

A) Your division (6 games)
B) A set rotation of 2 pre-determined divisions (8 games)
C) 3 other games based on last year’s standings

It is 100% formulaic. 14 of the 17 games were set in stone no matter how teams finished, with 3 opponents (Cincy, Chicago, LAC) based on how they and the Patriots finished last year. The usual blaming Goodell is patsfans.com being patsfans.com.

I could give you 14 of next year's 17 opponents right now if I wanted to - and probably make pretty reasonable guesses as to the 3 unknowns.
But that ruins everyone’s conspiracy theory.

Wish we had a few more 4 pm games. Here's the obligatory Win Loss Prediction:

CIN L
SEA W
NYJ L
SF L
MIA L
HOU L
JAX W
NYJ L
TEN W
CHI L
LAR L
MIA L
IND W
ARI W
BUF L
LAC L
BUF W

My hope for the season is competitive football and successful implementation of the offense particularly among the o-line by season's end

6-11 - top 15 draft pick = stud left tackle in 25

I agree 1:00pm games are better but I like to have one 4:25 and one night game, the later the game the longer the tailgate.

Definitely a tough schedule. Good opponents (at least based on what we think right now), brutal start, and late bye. I see ten games on that schedule that it wouldn't shock me if they won, but obviously it would REALLY shock me if they won ALL of those, so assuming those are 50/50, we're talking a 5-12 season. Throw in one surprise upset, and we're talking 6-11. Obviously I hope they do better, but the important thing this year is seeing how they compete and improve over the course of the season. If they're 6-11 but look like they're playing hard and trending upwards in December/January, I'll be happy with that.

Ah **** it: Drake Maye will have a Justin Herbert type rookie season, Polk/Baker will each have 1000 yards receiving, Rhamondre will get 2000 yards from scrimmage, Caedan Wallace will make a seamless transition to LT, and the defense will stay completely healthy. 14-3, Super Bowl bound!

Isn't most of it formulaic? Just the rotation.

yeah.. i know...i just like dragging goodell.
Yup. Who the home and away games are against is basically rotational. The only real questions are when they happen. For instance, are toughest opponent is San Fran on the road. Well we are playing them because the NFC West is who we are up against in the rotation and last time they played us in Gillette.

The only thing that “hurts” the Patriots is that they were pretty awful last year and as a result didn’t get prime time games. That’s good in the sense that we don’t have to stay up late. But the prime time games are the big national events the NFL builds its season around so they generally are more pragmatic and careful there. Now that the Pats only have one game and aren’t a high priority schedule wise, they are one of the afterthought teams

The question is QB. Of Jacoby starts, we aren’t making the playoffs. He was on better teams that didn’t make the playoffs due to him being very limited. However, if Maye exceeds development expectations and is a stud, and some of the new weapons also develop fast and contribute, then they might make it.

But frankly I’d rather they take as long as they need to develop Maye.

Cincinnati has been slow starters the last couple years so if there is ever a good time to face them its early on (aside from whenever burrow gets hurt of course). Only problem is we have been slower starters
