Because their QBs are PROVEN commodities?

Right now there is minimal difference between Maye and McCarthy, but Maye is more valuable by what? 2-7 pick slots? Why not take advantage of that perceived value? I see it as: Maye vs. McCarthy/A 1st round OL-man/another pick for a WR in round 3?

And the only way you get QB’s of that value is by picking them high in the draft. Once you trade out of that draft position you lose all control over what you end up with. So it’s not just some simple change of spots.
