Funny to think Cam was 4-4 after his 1st 8 starts with the Pats. In 3 seasons, Mac has never started a season better than 4-4. See y'all next week... wait there's the trade deadline... see y'all in a few days.

So you are agreeing with me that this would be awesome?

Can you imagine if our posters here, especially the deranged ones, were all trying to "one-up" each other with insane, hurtful takes?

Boy, it would be fun. Not for the mods. They wouldn't like it as much as me

Stop making me jealous of missing the kerffufle man.
Isn't that what they've been doing all along?

Yes, the Bills powerhouse offense. We watched it last week.
FWIW, the BB tried the powerhouse offense route when he brought in Randy Moss. During the championship dry patch the Pats were a superior offense with a defense that could not stop anyone. The Pats have been at their best when they are a balanced team that is proficient at all three phases. At this point it is clear that Mac is not the franchise QB that will make the offense function.

Belichick is also 44-56 when you combine his Cleveland record and his pre Tom Brady Patriots record. For those keeping track....yup, greatest coach of all time
Did you include his during Tom Brady record of 14-6?

I don't know, I haven't seen the post yet

EDIT - saw it. Yeah, Kontra went too far. It was a snowball fight, but he pulled a cannon unnecessarily. Both being long time posters, I would try to reach them individually and hash things out

Why did we suddenly stop featuring Douglas? WHY WAS HE ON THE SIDELINE IN THE RED ZONE?!

hurtful? what the **** is "hurtful" on an internet message board where 99% of people post anonymously? Good Christ, find a safe space
You are being far too categorical about this. And your premise that people cannot be genuinely hurt by words online is just idiotic. I guess you must just skip past all those stories of young people killing themselves over what they find there. You may suffer some sort of emotional anaesthesia, but others do not, and your immunity to a common feeling may not be something in which you ought to take pride.

Is it worth adding the 14-6 record he had when Brady was injured/suspended? Does it move the needle in BB's favor?

Can I just say and this is coming from a math nerd...statistically Belichick should have hit on more WRs by now in the draft?

Belichick isn’t the only historically good coach to be way less successful without his all world QB.

But I bet he is the only coach who would have thought last seasons offensive coaching fiasco was a good idea….

Agreed ... the idea we don't want a #1 receiver here is absurd. This must be why we drafted Harry, Thornton, spent a #1 draft pick on Cooks, a #2 on Sanu, brought Antonio Brown in, all because we DON'T want a top receiver, apparently.

The biggest thing I see week after week is a total inability to throw downfield.

The Dolphins had almost 400 yards in offense and 3-3 on 4th down.the refs were awful but it's the qb's fault ? Borderline ignorance
Love it... Mac Jones apologist... You could give Jones the ball on the 1 and they'd kick a FG at the 16

It goes without saying that the Pats are simply not close to being good enough but if Gonzalez and Marcus Jones were playing today, I doubt that the Dolphins would have had so many big plays the Hill and Waddle. Those big plays, and the lack of big plays for the Pats, were obviously the main difference in the game.

The fact that Bryant was asked to cover either Hill or Waddle intentionally even for a single play shows how badly the Pats missed their speed and overall athleticism. Gonzalez was already playing at a CB1 level and would’ve had an 2 1/2 additional games under his belt.

Uh, no, you can't say that at all.

Because the hit rate is around 33%.

And we just went an entire decade with only ONE pick in the first 3 rounds prior to Thornton.

But if you take the hit/bust rate, it's around 33%.

The problem is you can have hits like Branch, Givens, Edelman and even include Mitchell, but the resources spent on Harry, Price, Dobson, Chad Jackson, really hurt.

Yup. Makes opposing defenses jobs that much easier when there’s no threat of a deep pass. I would hope one of the intangibles our next QB has is the ability to throw the ball downfield.

One of the reasons I want Drake Maye. That mofo can flick the ball and it's screaming downfield.

Yeah we saw what happened a couple January’s ago in the Buffalo wild card game when Bryant was asked to do the same thing. It didn’t go well.

And they went 16-0 and went to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2004.

They weren't breaking the bank on offense so that's a moot point. Their offense had nothing to do with Bill's inability to stabilize the defense until 2013. The 10 year drought happened because of poor personnel moves and the Pats flat out choking in big games.

Just Trade who we can I hope we don't win another game.
Through 8 weeks.. I've come the the clean conclusion it's not the coaching, it's not the officials, it's not other teams... it's the patriots.. they have no talent at valuable positions, they are undermanned on defense and I can't remember any other CB outside of gonzo that's challenged a WR this season. The JC JAGson experience is over he's done.
From here on out it has to be all about who's part of next season and going forward. I can't remember the Last time a patriots season was over in October. Times like this you miss the glory years so much..
