Immediate Postgame Reactions
Safety Donovan Wilson. Although I don't know how he thought he was going to win that one. Wilson had a better angle and the only way Jones might have had a shot would have been to change direction to pick up a couple of extra yards and try and drag him for the rest. He had no shot trying to do it head on.
Did the bad decisions start after that? I think he got concussed.

The two big turnovers happened in the first half. That hit happened on the opening drive of the third quarter, although he threw the pick on the target to Smith-Schuster on the next play and then was a mess after he was nearly picked off twice on the ensuing series. He was taken out after that.

Kraft chose the wrong person.
Brady lasted three seasons, it's not like he's still in the league. And the championship in Tampa solidified his legacy and quieted all the people who would still be talking about whether or not Manning/Rodgers/Mahomes were better had he not gotten #7 there on his own.

Needless to say, it worked out just fine for him.

The only difference would essentially be we'd be in the first year of someone else right now, with no guarantees life would be grand. All of this was coming. All keeping Brady would have done would have been to delay the inevitable, and if they won a bunch of games, they wouldn't have had a pick high enough to land anyone viable.

But how did they get there though? Did they just teleport to the Super Bowl?
Yeah, that’s what they did, they teleported.

Traded for Trent Brown to solidify the LT position,

Traded for Danny Shelton to help shore the run d.

Brought in Patterson and Jason McCourty.

Cheap sob signed Gilmore the year before.

We wouldn't be in any better position right now, one could argue it could be worse with worse players on defense. Doesn't matter, we're here now and time to move on.

The inevitable "Mac is still our guy" BS has already been said, we will get yet another episode of "Corky, the Cowardly QB".

He does not have the mental makeup to be an NFL QB - poor recognition of formations and calling out the OL protection leading to jailbreak rushes, no ability to go through his progressions and spot open receivers (however rare they may be), utter panic when a rusher comes free, no innate sense of when the pocket has broken down, throwing ducks off of his back foot that have zero chance for completion, refusal to throw the ball away when a play breaks down, lack of arm strength to make tough throws into coverage or sideline throws, no running ability...what does he do well? Whenever he has had to drive for a score (prior to this ****show), have you ever felt the slightest bit of "he's going to take the team downfield and win this game"? I never have, and he's yet to prove me wrong.

Zappe had composure and didn't make any bonehead plays, threw the ball away when there was nothing there, appears to be comfortable being in the pocket, steps up to throw...I am not going to use the pre-season and the even worse incarnation of the OL as a criteria. You can see someone who has presence and is focusing versus someone who just can't keep calm and lets their adrenaline make their decisions. I saw that last year too, hence was on the Zappe bandwagon. I wanted Mac to prove me wrong, instead he's just shown I was an optimist.

bill the Coach is under .500 without Brady. Andy Reid is over .500 sans Mahomes, Shula is over .500 without Marino, Mike Holmgren is over .500 without Favre....
Those are about as ridiculous examples as they come.

For real? Shula who coached Johnny Unitas. Talk about lucking into two HOF quarter backs.

Andy Reid who inherited the 2nd pick in the draft to draft McNabb.

I don’t recall seeing a QB getting pulled in the third quarter before for “safety reasons” or whatever.

He was benched.

It’s like saying “Joe and the company mutually agreed to part ways.” (He got **** canned and escorted out by security, with his goldfish slapping around in a cardboard box.)

I still think the Pats will go 3-3, get back to me after that.

While I agree with your overall premise, it took 7 years for Holmgren to win a playoff game.

Reid didn’t win a playoff game after McNabb left the Eagles before getting fired. It also took him 7 years to win a playoff game between the Eagles and Chiefs. Reid and his Chiefs teams were always mediocre and lucky to be in the playoffs, but never going to be a threat until Mahomes showed up.

I’m too young for the Shula years.

Dude born and raised "in" Boston since the 70's. Root for everything BOSTON. I've been around and know when something looks and smells like ****, it's ****. Bill can't assemble the offensive side of the ball. No matter who the QB is it's evident since Brady left that's how he chooses to build it. It doesn't work in todays NFL. All possession receivers doesn't scare any defenses. Also Mac is limited especially with said talent around him.
People seem to think Belichick's design is to get possession WRs.

That's not the design.

The problem is there have been no #1s in FA the last 3 years, we've tried to sign the best WRs in FA the last 3 years, and ended up with Algholor, Bourne, Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, Gesicki and Smith-Schuster. We're outspending all other teams when it comes to signing FA receivers. That doesn't mean we're making bad decisions because we're missing out on better WRs. It means the #1s aren't available in the FA market.

Now, you can criticize Belichick for taking Thornton instead of Pickens, but #1 receivers aren't going to materialize out of thin air.

We can't trade for them either because we're not giving up 2 #1s in the top 10 for Waddle or Diggs.

We easily could've traded for Tyreek Hill, but Hill would not want to come here.

Conclusion: it's not that we don't want great WRs. It's that we haven't drafted them.

Besides, Mac is making this look much worse than it is. QB is the most important person on the field. Look at Zack Wilson. He has weapons. But he's horrible. Mac is on Wilson's level, and no amount of weapons are going to help these people.

Yep; just like Bruins ownership did.
I just can’t watch that team this year. The let down was just ****ty. I’ve reinforced that the best team hardly wins the Stanley Cup and I’m not watching one game this year unless they are in the finals.

Every QB has bad games like this one. The problem with Mac is that he hasn’t done enough to make you feel confident he’ll bounce back like the good ones do.
He was bad against the Dolphins too.

I think Mac is mostly the guy we saw today, with an occasional good performance, like the one against the Jets.

It's like Zach Wilson, everyone is complimenting him tonight, but he's really the guy we saw last week, not the guy we saw tonight.

To be fair, Bill had Testeverde, Kosar and Bledsoe for most of his non brady career. All number 1 overall picks. I'm not sure anyone else in history has coached 3 quarterbacks that were all overall 1st picks.
