He isn't. He played one half of good (not amazing) football yesterday.
Yeah but if the offense looks better with him, then the supporting cast around the QB isn't as bad as we mightve thought. I still think the supporting cast is awful regardless of QB, but at least Zappe made it look like it could be drastically improved in 1 or 2 offseasons whereas Mac made it look like we'd need 3 or 4 to catch up

I said it at half time when everyone was putting him in the HoF... it's ONE HALF of ONE GAME.
And, Zappe did well for 1 half. The 2nd half was pathetic by the whole offense.
So, yes, I'm withholding my zeal.
And, the biggest fear isn't that Zappe might get a few wins this year - that's fine.
The biggest fear is that those few wins will be enough to "inception" Kraft to keep BB, and give him ANOTHER offseason.
And it will be continued mediocrity and same old coaches, and Zappe will turn into Mac next year... (he's halfway there already)
Zappe is now 3-1 as an NFL starter. Although we have def seen some bad, there is also a lot to like as well. I think he’s not being given a fair chance by most. Would he have more starts if he were a 1st round pick? No doubt he would have.

With the malfeasance done by BB on the offensive side of the ball in this and last several off seasons, there was no way the Pats were going to make the post season. With adequate QB and OL play, they're probably a .500 team like they were the last few years.

Zappe had one good half of football last night so maybe let's pump the brakes.

I post here a lot but I don't keep a running list of **** people say here like some posters do so I can throw it in people's faces down the line. Half the time, they take that stuff out of context or with 20-20 hindsight.
Mac Jones had zero half’s of good football and you were full speed ahead for literally two years lmao

You’d have to have the memory of a goldfish to not remember who was repeatedly hating on the GOAT-Brady and/or telling everyone how terrible they were for years for not being a Mac Jones delusionist/thinking outside your box of perpetual wrong.

You throw that word hindsight around with people who saw all this coming 2 miles away.
Maybe you just have horrendous football takes, over and over and over again, while telling other people they’re the worst posters imaginable.

Enjoy your crow. Seems to be your favorite dish.

the remainder of the season i wanted them to beat the steelers and the chiefs my two most hated teams.on to the chiefs!

Where was that in the third and fourth quarters?
Second half looked like, to me, a complete meltdown on O’ Brien’s play calling. It was scared AF after that batted interception.
More so than it should have been. Feel like we could have gone for a 4th TD instead of turtling up with one draw play after another with a ton of time to go.

Holy moly. I mean it's clear you were obviously biased before, but this is just plain silly. 3 passing TDs (14 for 21 196yds) with at least 2 very bad drops from Zeke and TyMon) in 1 half isn't amazing? What would be amazing in your opinion? 2008 vs Titans for 5TDs in 1 quarter? If so, never mind and carry on.

Mac Jones scoring for the other team and throwing the rest of the guys under the bus at post-game pressers. That’s what they consider amazing, worth extending, the future. Like they said, they “want us to lose.”

“True fan” true fanning.

A bit of schadenfreude to help soothe this miserable season:

Coach Mike Tomlin should be fired the minute this wasted Steelers season ends.
Tomlin’s more recent failings have added up to a bad career. Tomlin belongs nowhere near the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He’s a fraud. He started fast with somebody else’s players, somebody else’s leaders and somebody else’s culture.
But Tomlin hasn’t had a playoff win in the last six seasons. He’s not had a playoff win in 12 of his previous 16 seasons. He’s likely to extend those dubious marks.
Rock bottom arrived Thursday night when the Steelers lost for a second straight time to a team that entered the game at 2-10.
A team with a winning record hadn’t previously lost consecutive games to teams that were at least eight games under .500. It’s an NFL first.
More insanely, both games were at home.
The Steelers came out flat, unprepared and sloppy. The usual mismanagement and coaching malpractice. Visible uncertainty. Bad decisions.
The plane has crashed into the mountain, but afterward Tomlin was stammering about “turnover component” and fighting in the second half.
Tomlin looks and talks like a coach who should be fired. Oblige him.
The Steelers are a mess. Their culture stinks. It’s me-first and leaderless.
It’s not a great roster, but it’s good enough to beat Arizona and New England.
The Steelers’ style is outdated, almost prehistoric compared to the high-octane football that wins in today’s NFL, and Tomlin doesn’t want to evolve.

With back-to-back stunning losses to a pair of two-win teams, the Steelers need a win in two weeks against Cincinnati to avoid the rarest of rare achievements — a losing record at home.
"Rock bottom"??? The Steelers haven't had a lower win total (6) since 2003. They didn't have their starting QB. Wow I thought I've read some stuff about the Pats, but that's just ridiculous. I don't like Trippy Tomlin, but the dude's a good coach.

I want the Pats to lose out for the best pick possible.

I know Brady is retired. Zappe is short and short QB's usually aren't as successful in the NFL. Then I brought up Brady who's taller than Zappe.
Well then that makes you a loser. Seriously go outside and smell the fresh air. You do nothing but complain and add dislikes to people’s posts. The Patriots won.

Honestly - whom would you pick if you had the #1 pick (or #33 and so on)... just for posterity. Go ahead. Don't give us an "I'm not a football GM/scout" excuse. Let us know who the savior is gonna be. The last 4 sure fire QB HoFers were picks 32, 199, 24, and 10.

JJSS was the WR1 for the SB winning team last year - that's not awful. Yeah his knee might be bad but it's clearly not that bad... and Jakobi was my Beankie and I was furious they chose JJ over JM.

I don't follow college football so I don't know who the top prospects outside of names mentioned by football writers.

Given the track record here, whichever name they give you is full on guaranteed to be a hopeless and complete bust.

Archstanton is worth having in your scouting department just so you can ask them who they like and then avoid that pick like it’s the Ebola virus.

Expected response. Really though, I don't blame you for wanting a higher pick. The Bledsoe #1 overall changed the franchise even if he didn't win it all as a starting QB for the SB. If the Pats got Rick Mirer, we'd still be Mired.
