He looked decent in the two starts last year and he played a really good half last night.

He's got 4 more games to show what he has.

If he somehow lights it up, it would be interesting to see what the conversation would be like heading into the offseason.
I don't think there's anything Zappe could do this year that would change the need to draft one of the top 5 QB's. Zappe could, however, become a quality backup, a Gardiner Minshew type. He's confident, decent mobility, decent arm, decisive. His 3rd td pass last night was a helluva throw.

Question is whether it's worth it.

Denver isn't winning the SB whether they make the postseason or not
I remember thinking that about the Giants in 2007.
And some of our own fans said it about the Pats in 2001.

On any given Sunday

Dont know if it was mentioned in this thread but the Squeelers are now the second team in NFL history to lose back to back home games against teams with 10 or more losses. Congrats!

My wife told a waitress "thank you maam" last year and the waitress, as we found out at that time was trans, lit into my wife for calling her maam. She/he never had to worry about that ever again after we left.

I remember being at an Elvis concert in 72 and there were a bunch of women in their late 30's or 40's in front of us and we were calling them old ladies. Not so they could hear us though.

You'd think the trans person would consider that a compliment since he/she wants to identify as female. People need to get over themselves. "Ma'am" is a sign of respect, nothing derogatory about it by definition.

Thank you, ma'am.
"Yes, ma'am. Come in, ma'am. I'll tell Miss Lavendar you're here, ma'am. She's upstairs, ma'am."—Lucy Maud Montgomery
"My dear ma'am," said the parson, replying in preference to the lady …—Edward Bulwer-Lytton
She looked down at him and said, "He most certainly is a large dog." "Yes ma'am," I told her. "He has a large heart, too."—Kate DiCamillo

That run play where he just went through the motions was something. Belichick would bench a player for that.

Maybe Smith-Schuster's knee is finally recovering? He had an ankle injury this game that he played through.

And did Gesicki even have any snaps? Didn't hear his name called despite the fact that we were scraping the bottom of our WR barrel.
I saw him once.....running off the field !

I am on this train with you. He had a nice first half, but one of the TDs was the result of Peppers INT. Zappe did the absolute minimum needed to win. He didn't crap himself and give it away, although they tried with the blocked punt. Just think, if Tomlin kicked the field goal earlier, we might be singing a different tune this morning. I am ready for a new special teams staff.

I am thrilled with the win, and thrilled to still be in the 2 spot for the draft.
Agreed. It's literally a Win/win. Still in position for a top 5 pick, while winning, and keep the spirits up for the team. Yeah special teams continues to be atrocious, I wanted to say. This defense playing undermanned of course has been down right stout. They play with attitude, with aggression, soundness. Next season with our lockdown CB in gonzo and our ALL PRO LB judon. We are going to be a defense no one wants to face. Peppers is a borderline ALL PRO he needs to start getting more respect nationally.

great game by Zappe tonight. But I do not think he has a stronger arm than Mac.
Arm strength is Zappe's biggest weakness with height a close second
I always think the will to win can cover up many short comings. That’s what the coaches are for. Put you in a position to win and allows you to flourish in a system until your potential becomes reality.

Yeah I saw that , and I appreciate it could be a waste of money but I just would not keep him around if he cant / does not perform.
Parker played every 3 games a season. He's un-reliable. As Bill always says availability is the best ability.

Peppers is a Dude.

I mean this was finally a game where playing conservative late was the way to go. The Steelers offense is hot garbage but their defense was getting amped up. Wasn’t worth risking the turnover.
This is where you'd had love to have Pop available he'd have feasted in the middle of the filed yesterday.

Sounds somewhat reminiscent of that guy who told Kraft “I’m the best decision you ever made”. Not at the same level, but rock solid confidence in himself.
That grin after the game yesterday I think speaks volumes of what this kid could become. He’s got moxie … we shall see.

Will he be good enough by then to trade back, stockpile some additional 2nd and 3rd round picks, and add more talent around him? Bolster the OL and receiving corps, add a back to augment Rham and Zeke. Maybe add a vet corner.

This may be a disappointing season overall, but the offseason is shaping up to be one of the most interesting we've had in a long time.

If Zappe does light it up, he should be given the opportunity to win the job next year, whether that's competing against a high draft rookie or a veteran.

When it comes to the draft, i'm in the camp that it should always be BPA. If we end up being outside of top 5 and Maye or Williams is still there, they have to pick them (unless our scouts tells BB or whoever the GM is that someone else is better).

And the Bradyites like me will be super annoying forever
We're told to let it go. My question is why should we?

And NOTHING was as annoying as having fans of the Pats complain to have talk of Brady moved from here. The fact that afterwards some of those same fans and a mod came to the Brady thread to, as one of them said, troll the Brady forum, made it even more annoying.

Best player on offense …

You really cannot count Brissett or Garoppolo or even Zappe. Not a big enough sample size. You don't even have a half a season worth of starts combined between them.
I'm not the one who brought it up. I was asked.

Brady's also 6 inches taller than Zappe.

My wife said it as sweet as she could, like she has always talked to everyone. My wife and I are old school and we didn't recognize that she was in transition, even after having many conversations with her. We just thought she was a not so pretty lady.
