Zappe has the poise to play the position that Mac has never had, from what i’ve seen. But his arm looks even weaker than Mac’s, and his accuracy isn’t 100%. To me, he looks like a competent career backup QB that won’t mess things up with a talented team while the starter is injured. But we’ll see, maybe he can improve, maybe the pressure eventually gets to him and breaks him.

It would be great for the Patriots if Zappe shows up over the next few games against teams fighting for playoff spots. If he looks like a middle of the pack QB like Derek Carr we may be able to take a WR high and develop a QB behind him. Assuming he doesn't **** around and win us too many games and forces BB to draft a center with the 1st pick.

He launched a 50+ yarder on time at the combine. He holds the NCAA record for most yards and TD’s in a single season. He has a stronger arm than Mac, but far more importantly he’s mentally stronger.

It’s not impossible they win out.

Kurt Warner was released and put on a PS, it’s happened before.

No doubt he’s mentally stronger. What he dealt with this training camp and how he responded to being cut shows that.

I'm watching the postgame with Zappe and Hunter Henry being interviewed, and I have to give some advice to the young men reading this:

When you're 25 and you're addressing a woman who is 38 (in this case a super hot 38 year old) never ever call her m'am!

Didn’t catch it, but have seen players seemingly address said fine ass female reporters as “man” while talking. “Man, we did this right”..”Man, it was a tough game”. Always comes off as ignorant.

Steeler’s D has given up the 8th fewest point in the NFL entering tonight.

That was a decent offensive showing for somebody making their 4th start.

I disagree with Wozzy that he's got a better arm than Jones, he doesn't, and really it's not close - but he steps into his throws, and usually makes the right decision. He's super limited though, he's not a starter, but it looking to become a half-decent backup for years to come.

Absolutely. He was terrific, but they need to get that Kevin what’s his name on the field. Multiple games like tonight will run Zeke into the ground.

Laser, rocket-armed throw by Zappe there, Meyers had to be an actual contortionist to get it.

The point is, it was the right read, but yes, Zappe is limited.
