Take some shots. Why on earth do you bother playing conservatively at 2-9. If Zappe makes some plays great. If he throws a pick, good for our draft pick. It’s a win win
Are they top five because of the o-linemen or that Hill gets open right way that Tua can get rid of the ball in like two seconds. Again, Hill makes an average o-line look great.
I see a very real difference in his eagerness in taking on contact, his aggressiveness in hitting the hole, the general level of violence he used to run with. These have little to do with either drops or fumbles. These sorts of shortcoming are a result either of injury or of quitting, and he does not at all seem like a quitter, hence my speculation re injury.
His playcalling when paired with an athletic QB in Watson and a true WR1 in Hopkins in his prime seemed to be good. But with this cast... has left something to be desired.
O’ Brien just doesn’t trust Zappe. Right before the two minute warning gives them the ability to throw the ball in the middle of the field because you get a time out anyway. They throw a quick screen that the defense sniffed out because that is the predictable play with Zappe.
