So I dug into the rules and I guess that play WAS legal, because they had 7 guys on the line of scrimmage at some location, and it appears at least 5 of them were offensive linemen with jersey numbers within the designated ranges. However, all of the OL were lined up out wide so you'd think they were all acting as receivers, but I don't think any of them declared as eligible... and Zeke was ineligible because he was the center... so the only eligible players were the two slot receivers, and the defense obviously just targeted those two guys because they're literally the only guys who could catch the ball and they knew the ball was coming out fast because Dak was being protected by 1 single dude and it was his friggin running back who was definitely just going to get trucked.
The play was legal, I think, but I have absolutely no idea what it was designed to do. I don't think the players knew either, because the left side ran up the field right away, but the right side literally all stood there and didn't move when the ball was snapped in utter confusion.
