DRAFT 2022 PTP Draft Board / Pats Draft Talk

Jameson WIlliams is the kind of player Bill likes...injured top 10 choice who falls into his lap at 21.
I'd prefer Burks if they actually went that route. I am hoping they don't because the defense needs so much help.

I'd agree with your claim if it as pick 30-32...but at 21? Not so sure, particularly in a draft so deep with WRs.

Unless their preferred DT whose somewhat of a unicorn (Jordan Davis), a CB whose clearly above the fold and ready to come in and start, or maybe if they see a LB who's out of this world at 21, I hope they trade back.

Yeah, I'd agree with this. Especially if JC is gone, I'd lean toward the CB. I think after Jordan Davis works out and teams see how athletic he is for a big guy, he is going to be gone by 21. That would leave us at 21 picking between the best CB, LB or WR left on the board. As some other posters have mentioned, perhaps a trade back might be an option as well.

He may fill the CB void through free agency like Carleton Davis or Casey Hayward...who knows.

Looking forward to the testing today.. I think it's ridiculous how they've changed it so that ALL the physical activities are on one day for a particular group. Surest way, imho, to get players NOT to participate.
Prospects have spoken out publicly and behind the scenes about this. And it makes sense if you've ever been a serious lifter or competed in different things. Not easy trying to put out "max strength / effort" over and over again for the bench, 40, short shuttle etc ...
@BaconGrundleCandy - Are you going to post your IOL prospect info?
Yea I can't believe I forgot again after you reminded about posting the tackles twice! I'm just a mess. I'll do it in a few with RB.

Yep, can confirm. I split up my running days and my lifting days. Putting out max effort in back to back events is really hard. When your draft stock is so dependent on .2 seconds or a handful of reps, it's crazy not to try to optimize your output.

Speed ... Pickens ran a 4.4 with a horrible start. Olave at 4.26 is nuts. 4.33 for Pierce!! 4.26 for Watson is crazy. Pats love HWS guys (Harry, Givens, Johnson, Jackson) him, Burks and London are targets. Blown away by some of these times

If Pickens gets a better start that is 13 guys sub-4.4. NUTS!!! 4.21? SUPER NUTS!!!

So what do you take away from this? 1) we do not need a WR at 21 - there will be WRs later on. 2) we need to find another 4.3 CB, like JJones, because there are going to be multiple teams with two low 4.3 WRs. Sure does make you wonder what the CB's 40 times are going to be.

How many of those guys play with that kind of speed though? Genuinely asking, because I don’t know a lot of those names. Do they all actually play that fast, did they all get a decent amount of separation?

David Bell 4.65. We knew that he wouldn’t run well but….ouch. I still think that he will end up being a good pro. Just does so many things well.

So Olave at 4.39 sec versus the previous post which said 4.26 sec. HUGE difference. Bunch of 4.4 guys, not 4.2 guys. Nothing new.

When I saw Thornton run, he looked fast but not 4.21 fast...something was probably wrong with the unofficial clock. The 40 times all look inflated.

Agreed. At 4.28 I think Thornton improved his stock. Tall, rangy, long strider, great body control, good hands. Who does that remind you of?
