DRAFT 2022 PTP Draft Board / Pats Draft Talk

George Pickens is an emotional player, in some respect sort of like Mac Jones. Have to learn to control that @ the next level or you can cost yourself and team dearly.

Steve Smith was a hot head and BB tried to bring him over once or twice, so something tells me that BB could tolerate on-field aggression if he's a good soldier inhouse.

I'll take a Steve Smith anyday. This team does need more nasty.

If Marcus Jones can replace Gunner for KR/PR and work his way into the line-up at receiver and CB, then I'm all for it. I'd love a swiss army knife like that. If he can be a reserve slot corner that would be awesome since the loss of Jones has been huge each time he's been injured.

University of Houston Pro Day is April 1st.

Sounds like a guy they could use a 5th round pick on.

Most mocks have him going in the 3rd

Marcus Jones has been one of my binkies for a while now.

Tiny (5’8”, 174) but has definite slot potential in the NFL. 2021 Paul Hornung Award winner, as the most versatile player in college football.

Didn’t run the 40 at the combine, so his 40 yard dash and agility times at the Houston pro day will likely play a major role in his draft projection. If you are that small, you better be lightning fast/quick.

In addition to being a developmental slot guy, he would immediately feel a huge hole in the return game.

Joe Broback (@joebroback) Tweeted:
MARCUS JONES ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! WOW!!! https://t.co/CHqQExuWIv

That's electric stuff from Marcus Jones. The Patriots haven't had an explosive kick/punt returner in a long time.

Passing Downs
------------Leal-Davis-Barmore
Perkins--Dugger-/Peppers/-Phillips--Judon
Butler------------Jones-----------Mills
------------McCourty

The beauty of having Davis in the “a” gap is we can have smaller lb/SS type at inside linebacker because Davis eats offensive linemen.

30 more days of mock drafts. I’m going hate some of these prospects just from seeing their names all the time. Another great idea by NFL. Mid April was just right.

I know I am gonna have my heart broken, no prospect no matter how good they look or test is going to change a franchise, and pinning everything you have on one binkie is the wrong way to look at a draft. Jordon Davis has become that guy for me and I am going to cry when someone takes him in that 12-17 range. Just close enough that i get my hopes up but gone before a realistic trade makes sense. That giant dominate NT just frees up so many other guys and paired with Barmore? Would solve issues I have had with the defense since Alan Branch’s last good year. Is it draft day yet? It’s like having a power ball ticket, you know you are going to lose but can’t stop planning what you would do with your millions if you win.

I'm honestly not sure what you're referring to here. The draft has been in late April or early May for at least a decade. In 2014 it didn't conclude until May 10! You have to go back all the way to 2000 to find a draft that started in the teens. Prior to that, however, it was usually in the 20s of April, just like it is today. Even in the 80s, they held it in May sometimes: April 30 to May 1 in 1985, for example. Sorry, but it seems like your ire is misplaced.

2021: April 29 to May 1.
2020: April 23 to April 25.
2019: April 26 to April 27.
2018: April 26 to April 28.
2017: April 27 to April 29.
2016: April 28 to April 30.
2015: April 30 to May 2.
2014: May 8 to May 10.
2013: April 25 to April 27.
2012: April 26 to April 28.
