DRAFT 2022 PTP Draft Board / Pats Draft Talk

We're not getting anyone better than Agholor though for the $5m in cap savings, and Mac was still tuning into the offense. Nelson has one more year, he may surprise especially as this offense evolves.
It would be 10M in cap savings if traded. So this idea that they can't improve is flawed.

I just dismissed this out of hand that someone is going to trade a draft pick for the right to pay Algholor $10m.

Agholor for a 5th or 6th - you dismissed that out of hand? You think a rookie will start and be better than Agholor? It is only a 1 year deal and then Agholor is a FA and the rookie can start his 2nd year.

We have had worse than Agholor.

I think you need to reread what I wrote.

I didn't say I would not trade Agholor.

I think James Cook has a chance to be RB2 bc of his rec skills. Arguably the best r/r out of all the RB's. Runs crisp clean routes from all areas even out wide. Eyes and vision really separate himself and help him make people miss. Very good using what's around him, uses space very well. Uses leverage well on sideline & MOF. Able to see and set up blind spots to trip up defender. Definition of slow is smooth and smooth his fast. Has one cut ability like his big bro (Dalvin) minus the power and contact balance. Effort or want to are there in pass pro but he needs a good 8-12lbs in his pants to hold up against LB. Smooth COD quick feet. Runs lower but has little power. He can gash you for 40 despite not having burner speed and can always the first guy miss. Doesn't fumble. Arrested two misdemeanors few years ago. Could easily take Whites role in the future and would round out this RB corp.

Hmmmmm yeah for every Harry there's' a AJ Brown and Metchalf.

Remember that rookie below many moons ago? It's not far fetched.

Why dismiss it? People have done that previously in the league.

What's more likely? The Pats trade Agholor for a draft pick or the Seahawks trade Lockett for a pick while taking an additional $18M hit against their cap?

He may drop a bit if the right questions were asked at interview process. Just reading the headline made me think of one player and that player is mentioned right off the bat. I know "we're talking about practice here" but I hate to see players with elite talent fail because of a poor work ethic. That said, he'll make enough off his rookie deal to live a comfortable life.

I wish I had the gift. I would not waste it looking cool on the sidelines with sunglasses. I would be in there imposing my will on every play. I would break the will of players and coaches on the other side. I would then throw on my cool sunglasses when I'm out of the uniform.

Fall to us please we need a player like him on our Front 7 to put Fear in QB's.

I would take Jordan Davis over any player in this draft, but unless Belichick makes a pretty dramatic move up the board I think he will be long gone. I won’t be surprised if he ends up in the top five picks.

I'm not particularly high on him as a top 10 pick. I think he's a little overrated and I don't think he'll ever rack up high sack numbers in the NFL, probably 10-11 per year at best. Which is not to be sniffed at, but not what you'd hope for from a top 5 pick

I'm kinda with you on that, because I think he'd improve our run D immediately, but also allow Barmore to provide a more consistent interior rush

Forget about davis. His combine moved him out of our reach. I doubted he'd be there even BEFORE the Indiana shorts and tee shirts convention. Now you better worry that Travis Jones isn't getting passed the Chargers at 17 let alone being there at 40.

I, like many others, watched a lot of Georgia football. James Cook always impressed me as a future 3rd down back with both receiving and running skills.

I doubt the Patriots, or any other team, is going to draft a 2 down DT in the 1st round. Jones might not fall to 40, but the Chargers would be NUTS to pick him at 17. Wilfork, on the other hand, is worth a first round selection.

I agree completely, but like most draft’s the guy we want the most rockets up the board after the combine and is out of reach. Two years ago one of the early mocks, before the college national championship, had Burrows as a project going to the Patriots. Then LSU won the national championship and he was long gone. Years before that Aaron Donald was a late first, but shot up the board after his workouts. Vince Wilfork was one of the rare instances where the perfect f fell to them, but I suppose I could say the same about last years draft. I don’t think Davis will be there but this draft is strong through the 20’s and a good player at a position of need will be available. Hopefully Jameson Williams or Devonte Wyatt.
