Trey Lance cost 3 first round picks and might not pass for 1000 yards with the team who drafted him before he's traded.
It would’ve been interesting to see Mac Jones in his 2nd season in the 49ers offense if they had drafted him instead of Lance. I feel he would’ve been very Jimmy G like in this offense.

The chiefs won’t make the SB
Chiefs don't look that good recently, and honestly I don't think the Bills look that good either, relatively speaking. I think the AFC is gonna get rolled over by the Bengals.

McCaffrey is a huge help no doubt but Brock is playing better than Jimmy G and Trey Lance combined. This is the Tom Brady treatment,a minimum wage young QB that can play which makes loading up a roster that much easier.

I think him getting greedy with Bill was a massive miscalculation. I think he was probably the one coach who really wanted Garoppolo enough to do a deal, so it's not like the demand was there to warrant the decision not to be reasonable. I think he was hoping to get back at least one first round pick to offset the damage, and it backfired spectacularly. Now, instead, they've had two years where it's cost them a ridiculous amount of money to keep him, and he's about to walk this offseason, and they'll get nothing in return. And to top it all off, it looks like Lance might be done there. Crazy.
Yeah he could've easily swung Jimmy for a 2nd, no problem. Jimmy would've been in NE and Mac wouldn't have been drafted by them. Weird to think about how things would look right now if all of that took place like it probably should have if Lynch and Shanahan weren't greedy.

I guess it might end up looking the same way this season anyway if Bill signs Jimmy as a free agent in a couple months for free instead of costing a 2nd, and he can trade Mac for a 2nd himself if he so desires. Doubt that happens but funny to think about.

You do realize if Purdy wins the SB it’ll be more impresssive than Brady winning it in 2001, don’t you? No rookie QB has ever won the SB

What a thing for a “patriots fan” to claim.

I do envy Shannahans offensive scheme. It's really good
How many times did Deebo or McCaffrey get 2-8 more yards on their talent alone ? While you’re right, I feel like the players are definitely powering this SF team, regardless of scheme.

I don’t know BUT he deserves to be the starter going forward unless something really embarrassing happens in the next couple games. Trade Lance for whatever to get something.
Ideally, Lance should start for the 1st few series, and then have Purdy come in.

(Yes, this is sarcasm and a reference to the Bears game, but I'm required to put this disclaimer in.)

well that first game went pretty much about as expected, suprised Seahags hung in a for a half though. Must be nice to be a young QB with weapons

I like watching good football regardless of the team. No shame in admiring other QBs outside of those playing in NE. IF Purdy wins, he'll be the only rookie QB to ever win a SB and he'll be the youngest to ever do so. That's incredibly impressive. Nevermind the fact that he's Mr. Irrelevant...

It's the offense Purdy is just a guy, every QB looks competent that puddle Matt Ryan was the MVP in this offense.

That's why Bill wanted to change to this offense in camp, he just should of went with it and got in some Shanahan guys in instead of his buddies.
What Pats got ended up being worse than a cheap across the Pacific knockoff.

They were one of the highest scoring offenses and best running offenses in the league with Elijah Mitchell, JimmyG and while Deebo was hurt.

The scheme and play calling is exceptional, along with Andy Reid probably the best in the league.

I would give up ever player on this team draft picks for the next 10 years for Justin Herbert.
