18 mill as a max value (with all incentives) isn't too bad for the Bucs - some were expecting it to inch closer to 20 mill.

Got every penny no discount. Don’t know where this leaves gronk and AB.

Oh they'll be back - not hard to manipulate cap a bit for an extra 7-9 mill for those two.

That's a very fair price for Barrett

No matter how often you repeat it.. Wynn is a tackle not a guard, Onwenu is primarly a guard and can be used as an emergency tackle.

I am not assuming that at all. In fact I have been saying forever that a rookie QB -- even Lawrence -- would get a redshirt year. But if we resign Thuney we will have a very strong core group in the interior signed for more than the upcoming season and odds are either Wynn or Brown -- maybe even both -- will be back on an extension as well.

Wynn was project as a guard coming into the NFL by a lot of experts. Wynn played tackle since he came to the Patriots but that doesn't preclude him from playing guard. And he played guard in college before switching to tackle in his final season. The Pats have practiced with him at guard in the past, but not used him that way in a game.

This is a hefty deal for Barrett in this market 68M base and 36 guaranteed!
It will be hard to make this valuable..

Damn. I'm sure the cap hit the first year or two is team friendly to boot. Team is basically intact from last year, bad news for the NFC. They weren't even firing on all cylinders until the playoffs.

Did you watch the Superbowl? They basically just kept the whole team together, that now has a full off season to get better. They can worry about the cap ramifications once Brady retires.
Yup, Bucs window is 2 years. Mine as well bring everyone back and worry about the rebuild in 2023.

The most impactful player on that defense doesn’t put gaudy stats and that’s vea. He’s the reason for those guys being in position.

We shall see but the cap will be going up. I think they will do everything as long as brady plays for them. Don’t know if he will play past 45 but it just sounds crazy and surreal.

I'd disagree. Vea is great for sure, but he was out for a fair period of time, but their defense was still solid. I think that defense is just a collection of excellent talents at DL, LB, and a little less so on the secondary.
