2021 Mock Drafts

Matt Miller's mock draft based on what he has heard from his sources:

#15: New England Patriots — LB JEREMIAH OWUSU-KORAMOAH, NOTRE DAME

Analysis: The biggest question surrounding the New England Patriots this off-season will be what the team does at quarterback. And as of February 11 there aren’t many good answers, but in talks with scouts and league decision-makers, the overwhelming belief is that the Patriots will acquire another veteran as opposed to drafting a first-rounder at the position.

Marcus Mariota, currently a Las Vegas Raider, makes sense. So does Jimmy Garoppolo if the 49ers were to trade or release him.

So as of now, the pick here is not a quarterback. That might change as more intel becomes available, but the smart money is on Bill Belichick trying to build up his roster before swinging for a quarterback early on. And think about this—Belichick is 68 years old. He doesn’t want to rebuild with a rookie quarterback. He wants to win.

A pick that helps the Patriots right now is defensive weapon Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah from Notre Dame. A 6’1”, 220-pound missile, JOK has lined up as a STAR, a linebacker and a safety. He can be deployed in a myriad of alignments and assignments.

And when you’re dealing with Josh Allen twice a year, defenders with versatility and big play potential are a need.

#46. New England Patriots — DL Christian Barmore, Alabama

#111. New England Patriots — WR Tylan Wallace, Oklahoma State

#142. New England Patriots — S Richard LeCounte, Georgia

#173. New England Patriots — EDGE Elerson Smith, Northern Iowa

#207. New England Patriots — WR Whop Philyor, Indiana
Unless and until he acquires a QB of the Future before the draft, then Bill MUST draft either Mac Jones in the 1st round or Kyle Trask in the 2nd...

Other than those two scenarios, anything else should be considered Dereliction of Duty and grounds for dismissal.

Barmore's not lasting til #46.

Wallace isn't lasting til #111.

I want NOTHING ****ING WHATSOEVER to do with drafting ANY ****ING SAFETIES in ANY ****ING ROUND.

And where the **** are the rest of our draft picks?

Jok is a 220 pound linebacker. He fits as a slow safety who couldn’t cover a fire hydrant, kind of the mold of slowjuan Williams.

I could see bb being very interested in him.

Butler, McNeill, Guy & Stills is a lot better than what we have now. OL/DL secured. Take a gamble with JN. AR is exactly what we need at WR along with everything but you can't fix everything at once. I like this mock.

Tony Pauline's PFN now includes the compensatory picks, as well as trading...

LOL I'm sorry I can't take this website's draft AI seriously. The PFN auto-draft has the Pats picking THREE Runningbacks when that's our lowest priority need. 1st round, 4th round, and 6th round picks all used on runningbacks. OOF!!

Here's my latest mock. Used the PFF simulator this time around. Their interface is nice, but their trade calculator is way off. I did a draft where I traded next years 2nd and 3rd for Miami's #3 pick!

Round 1
Traded #15 to Jacksonville for #25 #33 #45 (Again, their trade machine is off a bit here I think?)
#25 - Mac Jones. We pick up some additional capital and still get to take a stab at a QB. Don't think Jones lasts until #25 though.

Round 2
#33 - Zaven Collins
#45 - Pat Freiermuth
#46 - Daviyon Dixon

Round 3
#96 - Rashad Weaver
#103 - Amon-Ra St. Brown

Round 4
#139 - Nico Collins
#145 Amari Rodgers

Round 5
No Pick (Trade up for Amon-Ra St Brown)

Round 6
#197 - Kylin Hill
#199 - Alaric Jackson

Round 7
#241 Nashon Wright

I would be happy with both drafts. I probably like the second more cause i badly want a qb and d line upgrade but a combination of Pitts Radunz and Meinerz would be dope as well. I can see 4 future starters in both drafts at least and some depth players. I personally have to admit i wouldn't draft 4 WR in one draft but i like the idea of taking some shots there later on. Shi Smith or Eskridge if there would provide solid value and competition much needed there. In your first draft you have probably more starters right away with pitts and radunz, in the second lance needs a redshirt year but Nixon McNeil and Eskridge I can see them contributing year 1
