This guy seems like a nobody but he clearly has a source within the Pats organization. He was the only guy to report workouts for Gaffney and Colbert, before they occurred. They were signed one day later.

Of course it may be someone like the assistant equipment manager or the assistant to the traveling secretary, both of whom would need to know about players leaving the locker room/foxboro and flying in for workouts.
