I’m not saying the season is riding on it, I’m saying the offense will suffer if the only WRs that contribute are a rehabbing Edelman for a max of 12 games and an injury prone hogan.

Clearly if JE isn't JE and Hogan is out for 1/2 the season like last year they will be screwed.

Hogan has never given them 60/700, last year was barely more than half of that.

Hogan had 680 yards in 2016 and last year was on a pace for 60 catches. Again, I'm assuming health here.

Hollister is a hope. I’d rather pin my hopes on the guy who earns playing time out of a group of 4 veteran receivers who have had success in the NFL than a 2nd year udfa TE who caught 4 passes last year but looks nice in practice.
No question he is hope. I think he is just as likely to succeed here as any of the WRs not named JE and Hogan.

We didn’t put up 30 a game last year and are without our top rb and top 2 WRs.
The averaged a little under 29ppg w/o JE.

I don’t think we can just say who needs WRs and bank it all on Hollister and expect to improve.

I'm not banking everything on Hollister. I'm assuming JE and Hogan have good years which is very realistic.

Backup RBs and TEs are complementary pieces of a passing game not a reason to abandon the WR position.

I think White and Burkhead are a lot more than "backups" and "complimentary" in this offense.

Luckily we have a lot of talent there and I think your morass is because you put too much emphasis on people making comments about camp drills.

Maybe but Decker, Dorsett and Britt have done nothing here so its hard to be optimistic.

Hes been "Brady-ed"

Patterson have been absolute garbage WR in every place he's been and some here was acting like he's the second coming. If he couldn't perform in more simplistic Offense: there is no way in hell he was going to perform here.

From the department of redundancy department.

KR
WR5 overall, but with a packet of limited-adjustment plays

The above should be doable. Whether they think he's worth the effort is something only time will tell us.

Edited to fix typo of PR/KR

Im not expecting anything from his as a WR.

A few gadget plays a game here and there. Nothing more

Do you bother reading what you post nowadays, or have you completely forsaken that?

C'mon. You're better than this sort of silliness.
Forgive me for not panicking when I think we have a duo of talent that matches or is better than any in the league. If my assertion is so silly please list the teams with a better duo?

Maybe I can make my point another way.

We could have kept Cooks and drafted Calvin Ridley and our WR depth would look awesome but I think we'd still be screwed without Gronk and if Edelman didn't return to form.

With Brady, Gronk, and Edelman we are in the AFC championship game again probably the SB. Without them we aren't Dorsett or most any other depth wrs across the league aren't changing that.

You keep making arguments that are irrelevant. Let's try this one more time. Gronk is not a WR. Morphing your argument into "But we have the best duo, even though one isn't a WR" doesn't make your case. It just widens it. Let me demonstrate:

OMG!!!!! IT'S ABOUT THE MOST TALENTED TRIOS!

Brown/Bell/Smith-Schuster
Kelce/Hunt/Hill
etc....

Poor Brady. Underpaid. 41 years old and we give him castoffs at the WR position to go along with a suspended WR

Patterson hasn't been doing PR's during camp and hasn't done it much during his career.

Typo. It should have been KR, not PR. Thanks for catching it. I'll go back and fix it.

Just came off one of his best seasons throwing the football at age 40. You wanna try and make it easier on a guy that’s 41. Need to hope dorsett, britt, or decker have something to offer this team on a consistent basis.

Sooooo 2013 with a better defense?

Those games are some of my favorite. I still remember that New Orleans last second win.

Throw in Hogan and go trios if you want we still gonna have a top 5 trio in the NFL.

I love that this is what he's been famous for since signing here. Nobody ever talks about him in isolation, just in the context of potentially causing our least favorite Patriot to be cut.
And that's good enough, for now.

OK, you're either just being a lousy troll, or you've lost your mind. Either way, it's clear that you're not bringing anything to the table on this. There are plenty of excellent receiving trios out there, once you expand from the actual topic of discussion, which was the WR issues. Here's just a sampling.

Brown/Bell/Smith-Schuster
Kelce/Hunt/Hill
Jones/Sanu/Freeman
Thomas/Kamara/Ingram
Diggs/Thielen/Rudolph
Engram/Sheppard/Beckham Jr.
Gordon/Johnson/Landry

That's 7, just off the top of my head, that are right up there with the Patriots, and there are others (i.e. Eagles, Packers) who's team's fans would love to argue for, as well.

Your making my point we have a trio as good as the 7 best you just listed yet I'm supposed to panic because Dorsett, Britt, or Patterson aren't Danny Amendola.
