Your assigned the player if you were higher in the waiver process based on last year's finish. What does assigned players mean? Is he saying we’re assigned through waivers?
Did the giants really add 6 players from cuts?
I know they lack talent but wow.

I understand that but the wording of 17 teams assigned players was not clear. You make a claim without knowing what other teams might too. Your assigned the player if you were higher in the waiver process based on last year's finish.
Yes, the Pats may have put in a claim on more, but they only were awarded the 2 receivers.
It's not surprising that the Giants got 6 and Cleveland 7 -- they were at 1 and 2. My guess is that most other teams were asking for similar numbers, but not getting them.
Now a question. Is there a requirement for long those players have to stay on the roster of their new teams?
