2017 NFL Combine Thread

Err. OK. Doesn't sound like the type of thing he'd say but maybe worth bearing in mind.

Oh wait, they didn't have a first round pick

FWIW, Langi was inside last year. You can see the suddenness and power. He has a lot of upside if he's moved back to LB instead of DE. Don't know about 1st round, but anywhere from 3rd onward, I'm on board.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that he was a running back. Very comfortable in space. You can see the coverage potential pop off the screen. He's raw at LB, though, and often picked the wrong gap. He has real upside, though, if a coach has some patience with him.

This group of TEs is actually knocking Jake Butt lower and lower. With so many interesting guys ready to go it is hard to pick Butt and have him sit a year when you can have a very interesting prospect this year.

On the flip side, does that push him down to a spot where the value far exceeds the draft slot? Always bargain hunting.

I dont think that Jake Butt is that good and that ACL injury.....

If we were to double dip at TE. Butt would be the 2nd TE I'd take. Worth the risk IMO. Howard is my first voice but there are a few I'd be happy with.

I had Butt as a 2/3 rounder before the injury. No idea how you value him now, with so much other talent available at the position.

Maybe our 5th? Can't really put him above too many of the proven and healthy talents.

If we go inline with our first pick, an Hback/move TE would probably make more sense for our second. So, who knows what would have to happen to get Butt here. He's really not a great blocker either.

Baker and Peppers with identical 40s so far, but Peppers was heavier. Interesting how it's all about instincts and knowing where to be in the secondary, because no one questions Baker's range.

If you're not one of the top guys, you risk going undrafted in this draft if you don't run under 4.5 with this class.

So without reading through this entire thread, how did the QBs
do?

Did the Pats gain or lose trade leverage?

Pick Butt?

That's punny.

Watson did well, Trubisky probably confirmed he's the best guy and Kizer struggled.

Who called the 4.6 for Douglas? Dead on. I would have liked to see him in the lower 4.5s, but he's a good press guy on the perimeter, with great instincts and superior ball skills. He could be a heck of a free safety who slides down to cover taller receivers.

Not often do you see a 4.6 and don't think it hurts him at all. I think Rasul will be fine at that time. I figured 4.55, but this will do.

His press work is dynamic, as are his ball skills.
