2017 Draft Prospect Thread

Surprised that mike mcglinchey's heading back to nd. He could have been tbe second tackle taken after robinson. Better risk move. This tackle class's a little weak.

Not so sure about that tbh. Bolles, Lamp and R.R. all have some good upside.

Bolles declared yest like I thought after having a baby.

I like him better than Robinson. Seems sounder in pass protection. Both are good players, though.

Lattimore stats this year:
•1 reception allowed 10+ yards
•3 INTs
•6 PBU
•1 TD

Alabama LT Cam Robinson did not allow a QB pressure vs Washington. He's allowed just 9 all season (2 sacks, 4 hits, 3 hurries)

Had my eye on him for about a year and half. Probably a lil smaller than listed around 5'11. He's a treat to watch and has a 2nd gear.

When I do my evals I always have a "Traits That Translate" section where I list NFL traits I see. This kid def has some.

Haven't heard him mentioned anywhere.

We haven't talked much about Wise, but he comes from the same program as Trey Flowers. He had some injuries this year and so his production was down, but he absolutely has NFL traits. I'm really warming to him as a target in the same spot we took Flowers. Here he is last year:

Mixon declares. Wild.

Lots of scouts saying he's undraftable. Got a first round grade from the league.

Someone is lying.

Best back in the draft, minus the baggage l, in my opinion.

Older prospect. Injuries. Big kid. Seems like a finished product but coachable imo.

What do think?

His rec skills are so legit. So comfortable making a one handed catch.

I'm not drafting him. Too much.

He's def gunna grade out very high but get killed in character/baggage area.

Hopefully hes a better person

He is going to be under a very fine microscope. If anything else pops up, I am out. I just keep coming back to him just turning 18, with nothing else on his rapsheet before or since, and the things that transpired that night.

Still not sure, but I feel more grace for him than I usually do in these cases.

I can see both sides for sure. I have no problem with deciding that he's too much of a character risk. I also believe in second chances. He's done 100 hours of community service and gone through counseling. Is it enough? Hard to say. But if he's learned from it, then give him a shot at a job. His life's story isn't finished yet.

Anyone see Talib destroy another man's property the other night? That's a punk right there. I'm surprised Crabtree didn't file charges. He was a model citizen with the Patriots though. Soooo who knows?

Yeah, he's not a premiere guy, but can he give us what Long does? I don't know how many years Long has left. I want to groom a replacement. None of the mid rounders are perfect players, but as long as I see good traits and hard work, I'm fine with that value.

Williams really is a very good runner. Biggest question for me is pass pro. He has some great runs tho.

Garrett can get to the QB in so many ways but his bend is special.

Mixon really is something. How much of a pos am I that I'm on the fence after watching a run like this?

Watch this video from Stave Smith talking about Patriot defenders knowing pre-snap what route the receiver is going to run

WR Steve Smith Sr. explains how Patriots defeat receivers before snap

The reason I post that is that I saw exactly the same thing said about Alabama defenders a few days ago.

Considering how important football intelligence is to BB, never rule out a 'Bama defender.

I saw that.

Thats the reason why Humphrey will be highly coveted. Saban's system is no joke and he mastered it very young.

Bama is like the 2000's Canes. Just an incredible amount of talent and depth.

Thats one thing that concerns me with the draft grades of all of these Alabama defensive players.

How much are they feeding off each-other? How much is a product of coaching? How much is it a combination of both?

If you took all of these top ranked players and threw them on other teams (not so great teams), would they all still be same standout player they are on that team....

ps. Im done with Bama CB's. They aren't worth the draft stock they demand, and many don't pan out.

Im totally in love with Mixon as a player. He's my number one offensive prospect (in terms of players we need along with having a realistic shot at getting)
His off the field issues seem to be, not blown out of proportion, but theyre being brought to attention because of the great player he is, and the actual proof from that video. Many other players (i.e Dede westbrook) or even worse Tyreek Hill ( punched and strangled his PREGNANT girlfriend) are getting/got the benefit of the doubt.
Seeing he checks out, I would be fine taking him with anything later then a 4th.

Going Jake butt with one of our 3rd, and Mixon with our 4th, would allow this team to draft all D in the first rounds, yet address our few offensive needs with top tear talent, and be stacked for years to come.

Mixon in the Offense would be INSANE
