Loved this guy as a player with Favre, Antonio Freeman, Ahman Green and Donald Driver. Good comp.

Maybe but IMO Bennett is a way better TE than Franks ever was.

Asked after MCI writes an "article" saying Lewis may start on the PUP list. He is having a banner day. What a turd.

He is completely useless.

I forced myself to suffer thru Dooch Felger and MCI last night on CSNE for a few minutes and it was absolutely a waste of my time. No value or insights whatsoever.....which was my expectation so I wasn't really disappointed.

I was glad to see Flowers have a good day. Liked Johnson too (he had an excellent pre-season last year) but I really feel Flowers can be a long-term replacement for Nink.

Agree.I think it's heading in that direction.

IIRC correctly Nink did some work at ILB in the preseason. With his intelligence, knowledge of the D and size, that might be a decent place for him if Flowers or the other DEs opposite of Sheard are a bit more effective in the pass rush.

Pats really don't have a Spikes Ted Johnson type. He might be that guy......?

I didn't understand why people were down on Coleman last year. I thought he looked pretty good for a UDFA rookie.

They're blinded by the giants game where he tried to play with a hand he broke a week before

And because there are some who expect rookies to play like 5 year vets.

Agreed. The difference between Coleman and Fletcher/Johnson was glaring last year.

Defensive analytics: Compiling the Patriots' defensive stats from the 2015 season

Justin Coleman: 24 of 47 (51.1 percent), 301 yards, 2 TD, 7 PBU, 4 penalties, 85.5 rating

Outside of Peters and Darby, Coleman played as well and/or more than anyone else like Waynes, Johnson Collins, Rowe, etc at a position where rookies struggle.

Hmm.. do I sully myself by reading MCI's article and seeing if he plagiarized our thread that I started over a month ago?? LOL

I see Flowers as the replacement for Chandler Jones.. Sheard is the guy who will eventually replace Ninkovich, imho.. Flowers reminds me of a pure pass rusher like Jones..

Christ, have I been wrong about Mitchell so far. In the SEC, he wasn't a deep guy. He didn't seem like he had the speed to beat SEC corners. So far in TC, all he's doing is catching bombs. Dare I make him my offensive binky? I don't want to jinx him, though.

Way to fess up Kontra we have all been wrong before.

one of this board's binkies Ragland is down
how quickly tables turn in this sport ...

Maybe, but Flowers was known for his ability to be disciplined against the run which is why I like the Nink comp. I'd prefer a more athletic, bendy guy for the RDE spot.

Flowers will replace Jones and Sheard can play the same role as last year where he does his best.

The biggest question mark for me now is the OL and running game. Aside from Thuney, we're not hearing much in the way of positives about the OL, nor the running game (although that might just be the limited contact nature of TC). Still, these were the biggest uncertainties coming out of last season and I wonder how much things will have been improved.

There were quite a lot of positives about running game. Blount is very healthy and reported to be not only productive but also surprisingly “nimble“. Brown was praised by BB and had good reports on his running, catching and blocking before he went out (“believed to be hamstring“). Bolden excelled today to top a positive week of practice at running, catching and ST. Even Gaffney got some positives at both running and catching. Lewis looks ready to join the party. And Develin opening running lanes all the time. Only our binkie Foster not practising is the negative.

OL is still a mess, but it looks like we got a very solid new starter at LG in Thuney. If there would be a vote for the best player in camp he would be right up there.

Also - half of the league has serious problems with OL so I guess its not so easy.
